message 4001: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments Yes and also from their clothing and the setting.

TPBM can guess how a movie will end based on the actors. (i.e. Leanardo di caprio doesn't usually have happy endings.)

message 4002: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments Tobin Bell movies always have a bloody ending of some kind. Even when he was the record store guy from Seinfeld, it ended badly for Kramer and Newman (albiet in a mildly violent way (as opposed to graphically violent)).

TPBM believes that role-playing videogames can be a good lesson in consumerism (because the player always wants better equipment for his or her character and pays top dollar for it).

message 4003: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4489 comments Hmm never thought of it that way. That's kind of what I feel about the Animal Crossing series!

TPBM believes any book, considered good or bad by others, deserves a chance to be read.

message 4004: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments As an independent author trying to get my books noticed myself, I agree wholeheartedly with that sentiment. I might be a little bit biased. Just a little, not a lot. Hehe!

TPBM once described an angry person as having a “gorgon death stare”.

message 4005: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4489 comments Nope but I have described a person "staring daggers" into somebody. Somebody close to me too!

TPBM's favorite season is spring.

message 4006: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments My favorite season is summer, not spring. Summer gives me an excuse to go to my favorite water park Wild Waves, which I will do either tomorrow or Sunday.

TPBM spends his free time thinking of ways to kill people (either because he’s a mystery writer or a psychopath (hopefully the former)).

message 4007: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments No. But my friend and I have spent time planning on how we're going to achieve world domination. Is that close enough?

TPBM knows how to make an omelet.

message 4008: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (ace-geek) No clue, I don't like eggs.

TPBM thinks audio books do count as reading the book.

message 4009: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments I don't see the difference between seeing the words and hearing them, so yes, I agree with that.

TPBM believes there’s nothing wrong with saying “I” multiple times in one oratory.

message 4010: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4489 comments I guess as long as it's not said in almost every single sentence.

TPBM has taken classes on public speaking.

message 4011: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments The only way I would ever agree to give a speech is if I could read off of a script the entire time. So no, I've never taken classes on the subject.

TPBM believes there’s nothing wrong with saying the word “can” as a substitute for “may”.

message 4012: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (ace-geek) Of course, it's just modern language.

TPBM is bothered by words like twerk and selfie being added to dictionaries.

message 4013: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments Those words give me a headache. The fact that they're part of the dictionary makes my brain explode.

TPBM would like to read a fantasy story with a toximancer (poison-based wizard) as the main character.

message 4014: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes! That sounds interesting!

TPBM is having an awesome day.

message 4015: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments Considering I had a wonderful Mexican dinner with my family, I'd say it's awesome. :)

TPBM wonders why phone booths still exist in the age of smart phones and iPads.

message 4016: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4489 comments I know modern "phone booths" don't have a phone and are there so you have a closed off privacy space when you talk on your personal cell. I don't think there are any old ones around as far as I know.

TPBM has a vlog.

message 4017: by [deleted user] (new)

No. I have no idea what that is.

TPBM is in love with their imaginary friend.

message 4018: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments I don't have a video blog, but I have a text one. These days, I post reviews of good books, interpretations of songs, and sales pitches for old characters of mine. It's called Garrison's Library and you can have the link if you request it.

TPBM associates barbarians with heavy metal music.

message 4019: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments I've never had an imaginary friend, so I'm lacking one to fall in love with.

I associate barbarians with high drums. Personally, I like a little heavy metal upon occasion.

TPBM thinks that it's easier to give a list of favorite authors than it is to give a list of favorite books.

message 4020: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments Considering there are more books in the world than authors, yes, I'd say that's very easy.

TPBM thinks whips and nunchucks are underrated weapons in fantasy stories.

message 4021: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments I would agree. It would probably take some pretty talented world-building to make them belong comfortably in the story though, compared to swords and bows.

TPBM sometimes likes secondary characters more than the main characters of the story.

message 4022: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes. At times I do.

TPBM likes to have swords as a weapon of choice in their stories.

message 4023: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments Not anymore. I like using subtle weapons or ones that are more understated, like daggers, though I have a few characters who are archers. This might be due to my recent fascination with assassins.

TPBM considers their favorite authors as tormentors because of the emotional rollercoasters they go through while reading.

message 4024: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments Stephen Chbosky, Ava Dellaira, and Vicki Myron definitely qualify as tormentors. They were so close to bringing me to tears with their books.

TPBM thinks that WWE wrestler Roman Reigns has a cool name.

message 4025: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (ace-geek) That's the first cool thing about WWE I've ever heard.

TPBM relates to Sheldon Cooper in some way.

message 4026: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments Sheldon and I are both socially awkward, so that probably counts. Plus, there have been rumors that Sheldon has autism, so that's another comparison.

TPBM believes that a good author can adapt to any genre he or she is assigned.

message 4027: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments I could agree with that, though the amount of time and practice it would take is debatable.

TPBM thinks that it is virtually impossible to replicate the things on Pinterest.

message 4028: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments It could be that I'm getting old at the age of 29, but...I don't know what Pintrest is. Either I'm an old man in my late 20's or I'm a four-sided shape with 90 degree corners (a square).

If TPBM hasn’t seen it already, he or she would like to see the movie Maleficent.

message 4029: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (ace-geek) I'm not a Disney fan, so not really.

TPBM has more patience with animals than fellow humans.

message 4030: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments The only time when that's not true is when my old orange kitty Smokey meows at me at 3:00 in the morning to put her on my bed or let her out of my room. But it's alright, because I love my little Smokey-Pokey-Artichokey! ^_^

TPBM can’t stand the smell of cigarette fumes.

message 4031: by [deleted user] (new)

I hate the smell of cigarette fumes. In the past I would tolerate it because my mom and grandma smoked around me, but after not being around it I can't stand to be around it.

TPBM wants to travel with a gnome to every continent.

message 4032: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments That would be nice as long as I didn't have to go to Antarctica. Even the little gnome's forest of a beard couldn't keep his face warm down there. Plus, his feet are too big for shoes and he'd have to walk around the snow barefoot. Poor little guy!

TPBM would read a book by NCIS character Timothy McGee if one was published in real life.

message 4033: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4489 comments Yeah I think that'd be pretty cool though my favorite characters tend to be "Ducky" and Abby.

TPBM has bought a book because the cover was interesting.

message 4034: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments Covers can be very decieving, so I can't say I've done that before. There could be a picture of a dragon eating a flower on the cover and the book itself could be about knitting. It doesn't happen often, but it happens enough.

TPBM believes it’s not a good idea to name a tough guy character Bull because of the swear word that normally follows it.

message 4035: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (ace-geek) Depends. Some people make crude jokes out of anything and some don't.

TPBM has caved and watched a bad movie because a loved one really wanted you to watch it, and you had to sit there acting like you actually enjoyed that awful thing.

message 4036: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments For me, that movie was "Fed Up", the documentary about big sugar corporations. I get that processed foods and sugary drinks are bad for me, but if I make a decision to abstain from them completely, it'll be on my terms, not a documentary's. Taco Bell's steak quesaritos are too damn good to give up. Same thing with McDonald's Double Quarter Pounders with Cheese.

TPBM would like to see unlikely races and classes mixed together in fantasy novels (examples include orc paladins, faerie barbarians, and troll wizards).

message 4037: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes!
(Vampire werewolf)
TPBM believes in vampires?

message 4038: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments I believe in people who THINK they're vampires, but not vampires themselves. I actually saw a news report about teenagers who were doing "romantic biting" after seeing the Twilight movies. They were subsequently hospitalized because of it.

Even if the whole world were to somehow hate their work, TPBM will never give up writing because the creative urge is stronger than hard criticism.

message 4039: by Harsh (new)

Harsh Gupta (harshg162) | 66 comments Yes

TPBM likes reading fantasy.

message 4040: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes, I don't show anyone my writing, except the people who read it on here. :)
((That's weird, twilight put people in the hospital, another reason not to like it))
TPBM has read the mortal instrument series?

message 4041: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments I'm in the process of reading a fantasy e-book called "A Bright Power Rising" so that the author can get a review on it. So far, so good. In short, yes, I love fantasy. I eat it up with a spoon.

TPBM believes size doesn’t matter when it comes to prose as long as it’s still entertaining.

message 4042: by [deleted user] (new)

Sure? (Don't understand question..))
TPBM has read the mortal instrument series?

message 4043: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments OOC: Looks like we got derailed by a double post.

message 4044: by inactive account (new)

inactive account (inactiveaccoun) | 48 comments Well I'm 13 so It's against the law for me to drink but when I'm 21 I'm not sipping a alcoholic drink because I'm not paying to through my life away.

TPBM Doesn't want to waste their life and will do anything to make sure they don't.

message 4045: by inactive account (new)

inactive account (inactiveaccoun) | 48 comments Sorry my computer glitched and I read one from 2 months ago...

message 4046: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments OOC: It's okay, Goten. We'll get this train back on the tracks in no time at all. :)

message 4047: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes I like reading Fantasy,
Sure? (Don't understand question..))
TPBM has read the mortal instrument series?

message 4048: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments Can't say I have, December. Sorry.

TPBM has keyed somebody’s car before.

message 4049: by [deleted user] (new)

Nope, can't drive.
((You should, it's really good.))
TPBM listens to music while they write.

message 4050: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10185 comments I listen to wordless new age music while I write. It satisfies my musical needs while not interfering with my writing.

OOC: Keying somebody's car doesn't mean putting it in the ignition. It means taking your keys and scratching the paint off someone's car with them.

TPBM can find the humor in somebody being named Joe King (“joking”).
