Thank you Al and Christa for your confidence in my writing! OMG, now I'm feeling so much pressure! Me and my big fat mouth! I'm having trouble breathing.... [clunk a;ldkfja;sdlkfha;sdofja;sldfjka;sdfjka;sdfjka;sdfkjas;dfjas;dlfjas;dflkasdf — oops, sorry abou that. Head fell forward onto keyboard.]

M | 11617 comments I’m supposed to be asleep, but how can I be asleep when I’m laughing at Kyra’s comment in #2377?

message 1453: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Guy if you are going to pass out make sure you post your story first ;D

I have no idea what is on TV, I don't watch it.

TPBM thinks the person above me is a nutter?

(Not saying "I" think you're a nutter Al, just someone else might))

message 1454: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Well, I confess that I don't think M is at all a nutter! Now, if that had been me above you, well, that would just sound all wrong!

TPBM finds that there are times when English as a language manages to pervert ideas when they are written out.

message 1455: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Nope, I like Al :D She is fun.

TPBM knows how to make their own candles?

message 1456: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments No.

For the record, I have no idea how Alex’s walkie-talkie got turned on. I never recommend a cold shower for walkie-talkies, however.

Christa, I thought I was the only member of the group who didn’t watch TV! It’s reassuring to know that there’s someone else who doesn’t.

TPBM once had a pair of walkie-talkies made for children.

message 1457: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Yes, and I never had to throw them in the shower. Well, there was that one time, and they never worked quite right after that.

TPBM is hoping that the next generation of smart phone will include a walkie talkie functionality.

message 1458: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments I'll probably nevet have one so I don't really care.

TPBM thinks math just might be the death of them. Sorry, I'm feeling discouraged right now.

message 1459: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments I didn’t become an engineer or an accountant, so most of the math I learned in school was wasted on me. In real life, hardly any calculations I’ve found it necessary to make involved math more complicated than addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division.

TPBM likes doing logic puzzles.

message 1460: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I do! Love them, actually.

And Stephanie, I found math to be quite easy. (I even aced a 2nd year calculus exam! Ahhhhh, but that was the short-lived apogee of my math/physics career.) If you can formulate your struggles into a question, I may be able to help. Emphasis on MAY, as the last time a cracked a university math text was in 1982 (or there abouts).

TPBM also loves word puzzles and games.

message 1461: by Christa VG (last edited Dec 18, 2012 09:18AM) (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) No, I am horrid at them, explains a lot about my writing actually.

Sorry M, I do watch movies. *Que faith in humanity being shattered.*

TPBM likes to pretend the world is flat?

message 1462: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Eh. It's not bad but it isn't great either. Guy, I'll have to remember that.

TPBM is eating a donut.

message 1463: by M (last edited Dec 18, 2012 10:40AM) (new)

M | 11617 comments No. I just finished eating Sausage Pisola, from the Italian restaurant. I'm stuffed! I'm laughing at Alex's response to Christa's "TPBM likes to pretend the world is flat."

TPBM sometimes gets chocolate on the keyboard.

message 1464: by Caitlan (new)

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments Yes. All the time. I'm not ashamed though. I just eat it XD

TPBM has seen The Hobbit.

message 1465: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Yees! Loved it!

TPBM isn't feeling well.

message 1466: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments After eating my chocolate coated keyboard, I'm feeling off key!

(I liked Alex's response, too!)

TPBM is trying to find the shift key on the keyboard with the hope that pressing it will change how s/he feels about having eaten his/her keyboard.

message 1467: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Well, if I ate the shift key then I am be out of luck.

TPBM has to study.

message 1468: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Thank goodness no, but I do need to practice piano.

TPBM is going away for Christmas?

message 1469: by Caitlan (new)

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments Nope. But afterwards, yes.

TPBM doesn't think the world will end tomorrow.

message 1470: by Guy (last edited Dec 25, 2012 11:41PM) (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Well, since I talked to Ryan (who lives in Australia) earlier today, and given that Australia is 19hrs ahead of me, I am reasonably confident that, barring wild lightening strikes or other unanticipated things, I will be breathing in the A.M. Oh! It's already tomorrow! So, I guess thought has become reality.

TPBM plans to celebrate the continuation of the world by getting just a little tipsy on wine.

message 1471: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments I forgot to buy chocolate-covered espresso beans yesterday. The world has ended.

TPBM thinks end-of-the-world prophesies are fun!

message 1472: by Ajay (new)

Ajay (ajay_n) | 1138 comments Oh yes! I've skimmed through all the documentaries available on youtube. Some of them had pretty convincing claims, but all the creepy music in the background were too funny! The Mayan Calendar actually ends today, it seems. The Chinese I-Ching had also predicted this. But not even a grass moved in the lawn. Is this the calm before the storm? lol.

TPBM feels that humanity is already dead at most parts of the world and these end-of-the-world prophecies are indeed a metaphorical reference to the death of humankind.

message 1473: by Christa VG (last edited Dec 21, 2012 09:42AM) (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) To tell the truth I've never given it much thought, I sort of believe the world will end in some kind of fire storm after the son of God comes to get his chosen people. Crazy I know.

TPBM remembers what a tape player is?

message 1474: by Caitlan (new)

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments No, but I wish I did! I love the snow.

TPBM is extremely sick and can't even talk XP

message 1475: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Kat, I hope you feel better soon!

I just read Christa’s #2407. I can remember when 8-tracks first came out, and then cassettes. One night, when I was in college, my sister’s future husband showed me a little silver disc. Somebody he knew up at the TV station had given it to him. He told me, “This is what will replace records.”

TPBM is looking forward to holographic television.

message 1476: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Nah, I prefer it the way it is now.

TPBM is excited to watch Finding Neverland.

message 1477: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) I wouldn't say excited, but interested? Yes.

TPBM knows whats for dinner?

message 1478: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) How can one regret eating a hamburger? It's always a good choice. But alas, pierce my heart for to lack a hamburger is a crime I am of apart.

TPBM knows the answer to life, the universe, and everything?

message 1479: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments 42

TPBM was a little disappointed that the answer to life, the universe and everything wasn't 48.

message 1480: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4489 comments Umm.... I don't.... know. Lol.

TPBM is kinda mad that MP3 players replaced CD's. (response to messages 2407 and 2410).

message 1481: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Now really.

TPBM has to go clean. *scowl* It's not even eight in the morning yet.

message 1482: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments No. I’ve managed to put off cleaning for now. I have to go and make another pot of coffee, though. You must be an hour ahead of us! It’s not quite seven here.

TPBM would rather work on a story than do cleaning.

message 1483: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Yes!

TPBM is going to go watch some Netflix.

message 1484: by Caitlan (new)

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments Yes :D

TPBM wants their parents to stop bugging them about college already XP

message 1485: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Nope, my parents would kill me if I went to collage so it's not a problem. Well unless I actually went to collage, then there might be trouble :D

TPBM doesn't knows the song "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious"?

message 1486: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments By 'know' if you mean sing it without a lyric sheet then no. Actually, MP was the very first movie I remember going to see in movie theatre when I was 4 years old. My big cousin took me on the bus. It was very exciting.

TPBM has seen the movie Altered States.

message 1487: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Nope.

TPBM loves their new shoes!

message 1488: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4489 comments Though my "new shoes" are technically about a year old, I like them very much!

TPBM hopes more people will write stories for the "Hostage" topic this week!

message 1489: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Well, actually to be more precise, I am limiting my hopes to me: I'm hoping to get my story done. Witchcraft is sitting about 3/4 done on my computer :-(.

TPBM is hoping for a new pair of hiking boots.

message 1490: by Stephanie (last edited Dec 24, 2012 01:04PM) (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Naw. I don't hike. I hate hiking.

TPBM has nosy parents right now.

message 1491: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments I wouldn’t mind hiking if there weren’t so much walking involved. Stephanie, are you suffering nosy parents?

TPBM has been doing a lot of reading over the holidays!

message 1492: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Hahah nope, all my cards went out last week!

TPBM wishes they were older so they could have more experiences?

message 1493: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments No! I wish I were younger and had had a lot fewer of them.

TPBM probably isn’t going to lose any weight over the holidays.

message 1494: by Guy (last edited Dec 24, 2012 11:45AM) (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments LoL! Well, I have an active imagination.

TPBM doesn't know it but they would enjoy the magical-realism of the movie Lullaby for Pi .

message 1495: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Never heard of it so I don't know.

TPBM pinched a nerve. I think....

message 1496: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Thank goodness no, but if you think you do a good chiropractor can work wonders for pinched nerves. (and other stuff.)

TPBM liked the movie "The Kings Speech"?

message 1497: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Oh yes! I dreamt that my employer contracted me out to our national hardware chain, and then in turn I was contracted by them back to the original employer. However, I went from working in the engineering department to the mail room. And, furthermore, as a contractor I did not report to anyone, nor did anyone monitor my work or my time.

TPBM had a dream far stranger than that one.

message 1498: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) I don't think so, but I am sure to dream strangely tonight, I always have the craziest dream of the year on Christmas Eve because I never really go to sleep.

TPBM Knows where St. Nickolas originated?

message 1499: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments No actually.

TPBM is tired.

message 1500: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4489 comments Guy wrote: "Oh yes! I dreamt that my employer contracted me out to our national hardware chain, and then in turn I was contracted by them back to the original employer. However, I went from working in the engi..."

To Stephanie's: YES! Very!

Guy. I had a very strange dream and it disturbed me. I don't remember too much of it now but all I know is I think I died in it and when I actually woke up one of my shirts laying on my open clothes drawer it looked like a skull. It pretty much ruined my whole day. :(

TPBM is so happy it is Christmas!
