Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Well, I created a new post in the Haiku thread, and my gender — at least the last time I checked — was not female.

TPBM just woke from a LONG nap after a very stressful week.

message 1352: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4489 comments Nope got a small amount of sleep this day but made up for it in the evening.

TPBM is dreading someone is doing this weird thread stuff on purpose.

message 1353: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments That would be absolutely awful! I think I spent an hour yesterday trying to figure out which threads were still good and I didn't even touch half of them.

TPBM is thinking that they're going to write a story this week.

message 1354: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Yes, yes I think I will. It is raining buckets here so it is a good time to sit with a cup of tea, turn on some music and write!

TPBM is so glad the W.S.S is still sailing onwards this morning.......evening....noon whatever time you're on.

message 1355: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Yes!

TPBM wants to go to a bookstore that has a coffee shop.

message 1356: by Stephanie (last edited Dec 01, 2012 11:24AM) (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments I would love to spend the day in a bookstore!

TPBM needs to buy tickets for The Hobbit.

message 1357: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Nope, I am not going opening weekend so there is no fear of the tickets being sold out.

TPBM got their story written today?

message 1358: by Stephanie (last edited Dec 01, 2012 02:22PM) (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Yes, actually and apparently it turned out better than they thought it did.

TPBM has to go wash dishes.

message 1359: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments How did you know? I’m trying to get excited about it.

TPBM did a lot of writing in November.

message 1360: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Yes, indeed! It was awesome too!

TPBM is writing a poem for this week's contest.

message 1361: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments I need to get started on one. Stephanie, have you written seven novels now?

TPBM likes stories loaded with action and suspense.

message 1362: by Stephanie (last edited Dec 01, 2012 04:41PM) (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Yes I do! No, I've almost written six though. I haven't finished this past November's novel yet.

TPBM just finished a poem.

message 1363: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments I’m very impressed! I guess I’d better go to dishes. (Sigh.)

TPBM enjoys revising rough drafts.

message 1364: by Stephanie (last edited Dec 01, 2012 04:50PM) (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Sometimes. And thanks! Good luck with the dishes.

TPBM still feels like writing but the computer still isn't free! And I'm feeling pretty productive/motivated right now.

message 1365: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Well, except for my paying for access to the internet and buying the computer, it is indeed free. I am writing, but nothing of importance: another fushigi blog. And the odd WSS post.

TPBM does not find blogging to be an interesting way of writing.

message 1366: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments I enjoy blogging but when it comes to actually reading someone else's I tend to skim.

TPBM is sad that their dad threw The Hobbit away and is not willing to pay 7 bucks for it.

message 1367: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) *gasp* He threw a book away o_o, Written by Tolkien o_O And the Hobbit O_O!!!! I think you're lying.

TPBM had a kick butt dinner?

message 1368: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Nope. Well, it was an older copy but it was the only one we had and I wantef to reread it before I saw the movie.

TPBM is really excited Crosby and Jasmine are getting back together. Sorry, guys, I'm watching Parenthood on Netflix and am, well, excited.

message 1369: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) I don't watch it sorry.

TPBM had a hard time voting today? (In the group polls I mean)

message 1370: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Yes, I did!

TPBM tries new songs using the Starbucks free iTunes cards.

message 1371: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Nope.

TPBM is rereading The Hobbit.

message 1372: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Listening to it on CD.

TPBM had a hugely successful thing today?

message 1373: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Well, I finally finished my extended book review blog of the amazing book The Singing Creek Where the Willows Grow: The Rediscovered Diary of Opal Whiteley. That has been hanging over my head for a while, and so it feels good to get that done.

TPBM has managed to avoid watching the 'Home Alone' movies without suffering irreparably psychological damage.

message 1374: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments I actually kind of like the Home Alone movies but mostly because they remind of when I was little and would go visit my grandpa for Christmas.

TPBM is hungry.

message 1375: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Yes. Haven't had breakfast yet.

TPBM has been up for a while and already written more than a thousand words.

message 1376: by Kyra (new)

Kyra (Nikara) | 1221 comments No.

TPBM wishes they had been up for a while so they could write more than a thousand words.

message 1377: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments I have been up for a while but I do wish I've written more than a thousand words.

TPBM is enjoying The Hobbit more the second time around.

message 1378: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) I don't remember, I have listened to it twice a year since I was seven and read it three or four time, I don't remember what the second time was like.

TPBM is surrounded by people they don't agree with?

message 1379: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments LoL! Yes! I am an odd ball, and am perverse in just about everything I see relative to just about everyone around me.

TPBM is really iconoclastic, but pretends not to be.

message 1380: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Maybe

TPBM finally got their chocolate milkshake today?

message 1381: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Maybe. I've eaten some chocolate, drank some milk, and at one point drove across a road under repair.

TPBM knows what a Taoist is, but doesn't have the words to describe what that is.

message 1382: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments No. When I understand something, I have little difficulty finding words to explain it. I discover what I don’t understand when I attempt to explain it and find myself at a loss for words. The most I can say for certain about the Tao is that is has something to do with Lao Tzu and Winnie the Pooh.

TPBM likes a cup of coffee in the afternoon.

message 1383: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I do indeed! But, sigh, I mostly try to restrict myself to the morning coffee because my body's pH level is abnormally acidic and coffee is listed as one of the most powerful acidifying agents I can ingest.

As to your comment about understanding, I am the same way. It is why I love to teach. As soon as I am teaching, and I don't know how to explain something, in a myriad of different ways, that is when I know I haven't understood that subject. Teaching is, for me, the absolute best means of learning.

TPBM has at least one more book review to write before the week is out.

message 1384: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Aha! For once no, I've gotten all the book reviews written I need to write.

TPBM knows who Martin Luther is?

message 1385: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Yes. His proclamation began a revolution that ultimately fractured the Catholic church. I cite his caution against the over reliance on reason in coming to true understanding in my anti-economics course 'Economics Debunked':
“Reason is the Devil’s greatest whore; by nature and manner of being she is a noxious whore; she is a prostitute, the Devil’s appointed whore; whore eaten by scab and leprosy who ought to be trodden under foot and destroyed, she and her wisdom… Throw dung in her face to make her ugly. She is and she ought to be drowned in baptism… She would deserve, the wretch, to be banished to the filthiest place in the house, to the closets.”
—Martin Luther, Works, Erlangen Edition v. 16, pp. 142-148.
TPBM has never read Confessions of an English Opium-eater & Other Writings by the English philosopher Thomas de Quincey.

message 1386: by Ajay (new)

Ajay (ajay_n) | 1138 comments Nope. Winter, seems to have gone on vacation here.

TPBM misses his/her childhood.

message 1387: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Just starting to. I will be putting the lamb chops into the oven soon. Mashed potatoes and steamed brussels sprouts. Earlier today I candied 2 cups of orange peel. DELICIOUS!

TPBM enjoys baking more than they enjoy cooking.

message 1388: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Yes I do, I only wish I had a cow so I could make butter.....and I suppose the other things like sour cream and such, but mostly butter.

TPBM it putting up their tree today?

message 1389: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Nope. My wife and I, but mostly my wife, have already put up our 4 trees: 3 small, one big. Oh! And I put up a tiny one at work.

TPBM is sometimes rescued from feeling morose by listening to music.

message 1390: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Yes, I do. And so I am going to blog a weird fushigi that begins with your nose drip post here in the TPBM game. Maybe that will cheer you up!

TPBM thinks that the music of Laurie Anderson is totally amazing. (I've just finished listening to O Superman for maybe the millionth time.)

message 1391: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Never heard it before.

TPBM saw their laptop yesterday.

message 1392: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) I see my lovely Tony (the name of my laptop) everyday, he is my link to the outside world.

TPBM does not like to get up before eight AM

message 1393: by Stephanie (last edited Dec 11, 2012 12:47PM) (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Yuppers. Sadl I have to get up two hours before then.... :(

TPBM isn't feeling the best.

message 1394: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) A little tired is all, but I hope you feel better soon.

TPBM had to be towed today?

message 1395: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Thank goodness no. Last time a car was towed for me, I was out of the country. Granted, I was only a few hours away from the border, but still. Breaking down in the middle of traffic isn't fun.

TPBM wishes advanced math would just disappear.

message 1396: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments No. If only simple math were available, some engineering projects would be more difficult or impossible.

TPBM likes the weather mild, not cold.

message 1397: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Yup. Cold weather isn't fun unless I can look at it from inside and warm house and there's snow on the ground.

TPBM is writing a blog post.

message 1398: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments No. I don’t have a blog. I can't seem to keep up with the Internet trotlines I've already got out.

TPBM has a nom de plume.

message 1399: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I do, but not here.

TPBM had blueberry pancakes with bacon for breakfast.

message 1400: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Mmmm, I wish.

TPBM is taking a test on Macbeth.
