message 5851: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments No. The experienced part of my Self recognizes that the naive part of me would like that to be true, but there have been many good writers who in their lives have demonstrated anything but wisdom.

TPBM likes to find wisdom in the simplest writing, such as Winnie the Pooh.

message 5852: by Urvi (new)

Urvi Kanakaraj (ukainochikara) | 32 comments yup yup..definitely...I try to learn something from every book I read or every movie I watch. Keeps my eyes twinkling.

If TPBM were to be left alone in a room with a baby, they wouldn't be able to manage, and might join the kid in crying.

message 5853: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments I'm not a kids person myself, so yeah, that would be the case.

TPBM believes that no experience, good or bad, is wasted as long as something was learned from it.

message 5854: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Yes. I wonder, though, does learning that one is unable to learn count as learning?

TPBM is leaving to make a quick and simple supper after a great walk with camera :-)

message 5855: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments LOL! No, but normally my wife is and she has it loud enough for me to hear every word, so almost. Tonight she is trolling YouTube videos of talent show 'best-ofs'.

TPBM has a poem they want to finish for this week's stuffage, but is distracted by the game threads instead.

message 5856: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments I don't compete in the poetry threads, just the story ones. I've already written my story this week and it's a fantasy story called "Hell Yeah". What else am I going to call it? Hehe!

TPBM is mature enough to know that first drafts are never perfect.

message 5857: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Perhaps, perhaps not.

TPBM recognizes that no amount of editing and re-writing will ever leave one satisfied that their writing has achieved perfection.

message 5858: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments Perfection is impossible, but being the best you can possibly be isn't. Sometimes your best is good enough, sometimes it isn't. Even authors like JK Rowling and Stephen King are plagued by 1 and 2 star reviews from time to time.

TPBM believes that Ivan Blackstone is a good name for an orcish fighter.

message 5859: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4489 comments Yeah, it's funny you say that because I was thinking...

TPBM almost forgets how much they love The Lord of The Rings until they are watching the movies again.

message 5860: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments I've only seen it once, but I do love it.

TPBM has seen the LOTR remix for "They're Taking the Hobbits to Isengard".

message 5861: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4489 comments Only actor Orlando Bloom making fun of himself about it while he was filming for The Hobbit. ;)

TPBM thinks slang from pop culture shouldn't HAVE to be in all Youtube videos just to get attention.

message 5862: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments I don't think slang NEEDS to be in anything at all. It's alright to use it sometimes, but you don't need to force it where it doesn't work.

TPBM doesn't like books that try to fit too many genres.

message 5863: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I'm okay with just about anything in a book as long as the writing resonates with me.

TPBM has had enough schooling to have come to accept in his/her mind that objectivity is more important than subjectivity, even though his/her heart hasn't.

message 5864: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (ace-geek) I've almost always believed that naturally. School just confirmed it, really.

TPBM has been called Spock because they're so objective they're seen as not even emotional enough.

message 5865: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments I've never been called Spock because I'm too emotional and opinionated to be him. Plus, my ears aren't pointy like his. Hehe!

TPBM thinks Summer Rae, Eva Marie, and Alexa Bliss all sound like stripper names.

message 5866: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments I actually knew a girl in school named Summer Rae (spelled exactly like that), so I feel like it would be insulting to answer yet to that one.

TPBM has trouble deciding on directions to go when they're writing because they have so many ideas!

message 5867: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments That's why I plan ahead of time, so that the chances of it happening are minimal.

TPBM believes that writing is comparable to mixed-martial arts (the author is the fighter, the editors are the coaches, the reviewers are the audience, the advertiser is Bruce Buffer, and the publishing companies are the judges and referees).

message 5868: by Guy (last edited Jul 26, 2015 09:15PM) (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Lol! Nope, not at all.

TPBM thinks that the creation of 'writing' is a complex dance loosely based on rules but mostly an extemporaneous expression.

message 5869: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments Definitely. Even when we're writing something that isn't exactly "creative", we cause such subtle paradigm shifts with every chosen word.

TPBM thinks that writing is ultimately an expression of who the writer is.

message 5870: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments Just like any other art form, yes, that's true.

TPBM would like to see Donald Trump shaved bald.

message 5871: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments I don't think he has the right head shape for that too look good. I feel like the top of his skull would be a bit flat.

TPBM thinks that trend of "Trump Your Cat" is funny.

message 5872: by Nadia (new)

Nadia | 690 comments Never heard of it.

TPBM woke up at four am this morning.

message 5873: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Nope, the alarm is set for five and I woke with it this morning.

TPBM reads newspapers.

message 5874: by Nadia (new)

Nadia | 690 comments No, I get my news from my friends and family.

TPBM loves Disney movies.

message 5875: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (ace-geek) Eh, does Star Wars count nowadays?

TPBM hates sleeping in because then they can't sleep that night.

message 5876: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments Exactly!

TPBM is a morning person because they feel it makes them more productive.

message 5877: by Lee (new)

Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments I wish.

TPBM is tired.

message 5878: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments I'm usually exhausted, but I'm just fine today.

TPBM got a good night's sleep yesterday.

message 5879: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments I kept waking up in the middle of the night gasping for air, so probably not.

TPBM has a Deviant Art account that he or she would like to share with me.

message 5880: by Lee (last edited Jul 27, 2015 04:13PM) (new)

Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments Nope.

TPBM is feeling extremely hot even though there is abundant and cool wind.

message 5881: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments I'm actually quite comfortable in this cool weather. It was hot when I was riding with James in the car to the YMCA, but other than that, not much heat on my end.

TPBM draws creative fuel from Magic: the Gathering cards.

message 5882: by Ruthie (new)

Ruthie (bluephoenix20) | 129 comments I don't have the cards, so no. I did read the book Magic: The Gathering, but I'm not really inspired by the brutality of the story.

TPBM has partied all weekend and now just want to sleep in and rest. (Even though they still have work. LOL)

message 5883: by Lee (new)

Lee (lee-lette) | 1840 comments Sadly no.

TPBM is getting sleepy even though it's only 7.

message 5884: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments I just spent 45 minutes water-walking at the YMCA, so yeah, I am a little tired.

TPBM can’t stand people who sue for a million dollars over something as petty as slander.

message 5885: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments I think people are too offendable in general. People get so angry over little things.

TPBM knows that most times, people who say something hurtful are doing it because of something that person is struggling with rather anger toward them.

message 5886: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I do.

TPBM is uncertain about what 'wisdom' is.

message 5887: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments In the same way that intelligence comes with knowledge, wisdom comes with experience. Two ways to be smart, but only one of them comes with maturity.

TPBM already knows what they’re going to dress up as for Halloween.

message 5888: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments LOL! Well, in fact I do, but only because it will be my 'normal' day-to-day outfits.

TPBM is thinking that the pumpkins are going to be ripe about a month too early this year because of the unusually warm spring and summer.

message 5889: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments Ripe might not be the right word. Maybe rancid is closer to the truth.

TPBM believes that mixed-martial arts, boxing, and pro-wrestling are more than just "human cockfighting".

message 5890: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I do.

TPBM has taken ballroom dancing lessons.

message 5891: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments I can't say that I have. Dancing isn't my thing unless I'm slow dancing with a cute girl to a romantic soundtrack.

TPBM plans to enter this week's story contest.

message 5892: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments No. I plan to read last week's poetry to vote and comment, and to write a poem. (But the week is getting unexpectedly busy, again.)

TPBM wants to hug anyone they see walking while reading a REAL inked paper book!

message 5893: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments I do love a good paper book, so yes, that'd be true. Besides which, hugging is fun!

TPBM is currently reading an e-book that he or she agreed to honestly review as a favor for the indie author who wrote it.

message 5894: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments Nope, can't say I am.

TPBM is packing for a trip.

message 5895: by Ruthie (new)

Ruthie (bluephoenix20) | 129 comments Actually, I just finished unpacking all my stuff from my last trip (about a month ago). LOL. So lazy.

TPBM goes to work/school even if they're mildly sick just to get out of the house.

message 5896: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I have been known to do that, but my rationale is completely different. Fear of being seen as a failure or weak used to be my rationale.

TPBM generally enjoys good health.

message 5897: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments I'd like to think I'm in a good place mentally and physically despite having a big belly. And yes, I'm enjoying every minute of it. :)

After Googling a picture of Gemini Syndrome lead singer Aaron Nordstrom, TPBM assumed he was an old man.

message 5898: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments Yes, he reminds me a little of Gandalf.

TPBM has once participated in a paint fight with friends.

message 5899: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments I can't say I've ever done that before. It sounds like good wholesome fun. Now all I need are some real life friends in my neighborhood.

TPBM thinks "Morning Coffee With Grandma" is a cute title for a new age song.

message 5900: by Ruthie (new)

Ruthie (bluephoenix20) | 129 comments I think it's a cute title for a family sitcom. :)

TPBM has tried to design and build his/her own room.
