Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments Not at all. These days I wake up in the mid-afternoon. If I ever did wake up in the morning, I would be extremely moody.

The book is significantly better than the very good movie.

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Yes I do enjoy green grapes were better than purple ones, but I think I like red seedless better than the green ones.

message 5363: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Nope, I'm not, because I just finished posting a greeting response and by completely ignoring your TPBM post and comment on something non-sequetorial, such as 'Yes, the sun is shining here and the weather has been exceptionally dry'.

TPBM is going to become fully aware that Guy was unable to not comment on Neal's comment about comments and comment on Guy's silly futility at even trying to do so.

message 5364: by Nadia (new)

Nadia | 690 comments Chocolate is good.

TPBM is laughing

message 5365: by Garrison (new)

TPBM collects gel ink pens.

message 5367: by Garrison (new)

message 5368: by Nadia (new)

Nadia | 690 comments Always.

TPBM often wonders what it would be like to live in a different socio-economic level.

message 5369: by Garrison (new)

TPBM uses Random.org to make artistic decisions (because he or she likes surprises).

message 5370: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments I'm not an artist, so no.

When TPBM watches nature documentaries, they wonder how in the world the film was caught.

TPBM tends to tune out the world when reading a book or listening to music.

message 5374: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments Seeing as how most of my world consists of cars driving by with their mufflers cut off, yes, that would be an accurate assessment of my music and book time.

Like my best friend Susan, TPBM gets squeamish whenever they see the CD cover for Hellyeah’s "Blood For Blood".

message 5375: by Nadia (new)

Nadia | 690 comments Never seen that cover, yet I am certain, that I would be squeamish. Based on the name alone.

TPBM does judge books by their cover.

message 5376: by Guy (new)

TPBM has written enough worthwhile poems, now, to put together a book.

message 5382: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments I already did. It's called "Confessions of a Schizophrenic Savage" and currently holds a four-star rating here on Good Reads...with one vote, of course.

TPBM thinks The Lord of the Rings is the name of a professional wrestler (if you do, then according to Jeff Foxworthy, you might be a redneck).

message 5383: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I do not think that. Does that mean, logically, that I am not a redneck?

TPBM has no idea who Jeff Foxworthy is, but suspects that if Jeff is worthy of Fox, then his politics are idiotic.

message 5384: by Nadia (new)

Nadia | 690 comments I don't watch anime, so no.

TPBM woke up early this morning.

TPBM has begun to enjoy weird smoothies for breakfast.

message 5387: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments I don't drink smoothies in the morning. I eat Hot Pockets instead, which as my mother would sarcastically say are recommended by nutritionists everywhere. Hehe!

message 5388: by Guy (new)

TPBM enjoys Portuguese fado music.

message 5389: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments I haven't heard any before, but I'm sure it'd be nice. When I think of foreign language music, I think of German metal band Rammstein and Indian sitar player Ravi Shankar.

TPBM thinks it’s funny that Alan Parker’s name is an anagram of A Real Prank.

message 5390: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Perhaps. Anagrams are often ironical.

TPBM enjoys listening to birds first thing in the morning.

message 5391: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments Better than listening to my schipperke bark his head off. Hell, he's probably scaring away the little birdies.

message 5392: by Trinity (new)

When it comes to the contest polls, TPBM is a good sport even when he or she doesn’t get any votes.

message 5396: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments I try very hard to be a good sport about everything, but I can admit that it is one of my weaknesses and that dealing with my pride is a constant issue I need to deal with.

TPBM understands that admitting their weaknesses is the first step to becoming a better person.

message 5397: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Yes. Although it is debatable because maybe the first step is to accept that admitting that one has weaknesses is more important in life than the acquisition of social and/or monetary success.

TPBM is surprised that the dialogues of Epictetus are filled with the same kinds of political and human observations to be read in current social critiques and self help books, even though he died in the 2nd century.

message 5398: by J. T. (new)

J. T. | 540 comments not really...because I don't know who Epictetus is and I don't bother reading self help books

TPBM thinks that "conventional wisdom" is usually a whole lot of nonsense

message 5399: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments The phrase "conventional wisdom" is just a loaded buzzword politicians use to get votes. There are a million buzzwords that can be used to achieve these ends.

TPBM knows that the phrase "sour grapes" has more to do with rationalizing failure than it does being a sore loser.

message 5400: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I hadn't thought of that in that way. Sour grapes make poor wine, and so the original of the phrase has to do with knowing that what one has started with will not give optimal results regardless of the effort put into it. From that perspective, it seems a perfectly rational metaphor meaning that quality of effort is independent of the quality of the result.

TPBM finds the etymology and metamorphosis of words and language fascinating.
