message 5251: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (ace-geek) That's interesting only as long as it's far from me and everyone I know.

TPBM is never reading just one book at a time.

message 5252: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments Actually, yes, I do read one book at a time. It keeps things simpler that way.

TPBM knows that the Latin word Deus is pronounced “DAY-us” and not “duce”.

message 5253: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I do.

TPBM has studied Latin.

message 5254: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments No, I haven't. I've studied Spanish, which is a derivative of Latin, but not Latin itself.

TPBM thinks Machu is a good name for a barbarian.

message 5255: by Connie (new)

Connie D. | 656 comments Yes, a little too much!

TPBM thinks Kimathy is an interesting name.

message 5256: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments I certainly wouldn't mind having a character in a future story with that name. :)

TPBM depends on caffeine in order to get things done.

message 5257: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Not at all. I cut out coffee and all teas in August last year. I've started drinking green tea occasionally beginning in February when I learned that green tea is an excellent source of natural tooth saving fluoride. (Yes, I learned this after some serious tooth problems.) Still no coffee in nine months.

TPBM was surprised when s/he learned from experience that root canals are not as bad as s/he had been led to believe.

message 5258: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments I've never had a root canal before, so I wouldn't know. I've had cavities filled and that wasn't any fun, but that's about it.

TPBM is a frequent contributor to the Weekly Topic Suggestions thread.

message 5259: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments I'm afraid not, but school is over for me and I'm hoping to start entering stories into the weekly contest again. Fingers crossed my summer job / homework won't interfere too much.

TPBM knows of a good movie to watch on Netflix right now.

message 5260: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I have no idea if it is on Netflix, but Lullaby for Pi is a FANTASTIC quirky film.

TPBM prefers independent films to giant studio blockbusters.

message 5261: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments I'll watch anything that has good plot and good acting, regardless of if it's independent or a blockbuster.

TPBM is sad when they come across a truly amazing book that is underrated by the general public.

message 5262: by Guy (last edited May 29, 2015 09:27PM) (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments No. I recognize that all of us have a path on life that is largely independent of anyone else's, and so our likes will be different and will, hopefully, change with time as time changes us. [Then give Lullaby for Pi a try!]

TPBM loves it when, by accident, they have a conversation with a near stranger and discover that s/he, like you, loves an amazing but underrated book.

message 5263: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments If I can find someone in public life who even knows the name Brett Battles, it would indeed rock my world. I don't know if I'd go bonkers, but it'd be nice to meet that stranger some day.

TPBM thinks Micah is a good name for a paladin.

message 5264: by Guy (last edited May 29, 2015 10:06PM) (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I like the name Micah and as long as the paladin wasn't evil or malodorous, I could see Micah the Paladin.

TPBM thinks that Penelope the Pyromaniac Paladin is a good title for a comedic graphic novel.

message 5265: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments That title sounds like something the Monty Python franchise would produce. Either that, or it sounds like a villain from Danger Mouse. Either way, it has British comedy implications.

TPBM has a hard time taking a character named Drake Blake seriously.

message 5266: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments That would be the appeal of making such a named character very serious.

TPBM has waited over 2 hours in a doctor's waiting room.

message 5267: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments I've spent longer than that for the whole hospital visit, particularly when Nacho bit me and it wasn't clear if I was going to need rabies shots or not. Turns out I didn't and the whole thing was a waste of time.

TPBM refers to a group of nosy people as a "vulture culture".

message 5268: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I do not. But I feel that this maligns vultures, a little, as they have an important role in the ecosystem whereas I don't see much value in nosy-ness, generally.

TPBM is getting read to go to bed after a quick shower. [Goodnight.]

message 5269: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments Maybe not after a quick shower, but I do plan on taking my meds and brushing my teeth. Goodnight to you as well, Guy. Pleasant dreams.

message 5272: by Garrison (new)

TPBM will be making homemade pizza tonight.

message 5274: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments No, but I will be having homemade spaghetti. [I'll be sure to check that movie out, Guy. Thanks for the rec :)]

TPBM likes putting chips in their sandwiches.

message 5275: by Guy (new)

message 5276: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments I've never done that before, but it sounds like a delicious idea!

TPBM believes professional wrestling can be an art form if done correctly.

message 5277: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Of course! Art is in the eye of the beholder, and so given that wrestling is all about holds, so be it art.

TPBM knows that thinking about the importance of physical movement is an inadequate substitute to actual movement, yet keeps putting it off.

message 5278: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments It's the difference between practice and theory and I know that line very well.

TPBM enjoys mending and/or sewing.

message 5280: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments Sewing used to give me fits whenever I signed up for a Home Ec class in middle school, so no, I don't enjoy it at all.

TPBM has an Irish ethnic background.

message 5281: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments Nope. Both my parents are Filipino, though I believe my great (great?) grandfather was a Spaniard.

TPBM has many cousins.

message 5282: by Guy (last edited May 30, 2015 09:47PM) (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Yes, if seven maternal and an unknown number of paternal counts as lots.

TPBM has began to track down their roots.

message 5284: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Not really. I am besotted with learning yoga at this time, and then Tai Chi. Although a friend, who is a black belt in Karate, has been hoping I will join his dojo.

TPBM enjoys the great singing and music of Cesaria Evora.

message 5285: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10190 comments Eh, it's not my kind of music. I'm more of a hard rock and heavy metal kind of guy.

TPBM measures his or her life’s success by happiness instead of money or fame.

message 5286: by Nadia (new)

Nadia | 690 comments Yes, definitely.

TPBM Often imagines what they would do if they had excess money.

message 5287: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (ace-geek) Sometimes.

TPBM has planned at least one tattoo but never had the nerve to get it done.

message 5288: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments No, not often. I concentrate more on doing what I want with what I have, which takes a lot of imagination sometimes.

TPBM would like to think of themselves as having simple needs and low maintenance requirements when the opposite is in fact the case.

message 5289: by Angie (new)

Angie Pangan | 4795 comments I have never wanted a tattoo, so that doesn't apply to me.

I think I'm relatively low maintenance (I don't wear make up and I buy all my clothes on sale) but I also wouldn't mind having enough money to have better quality things if it meant I wouldn't have to get them replaced ad often.

TPBM has had a long day at work.

message 5290: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Yes and no. Took wife to Dr's office this morning for tests and just finished having a 90 minute molar extraction.
