This was an okay read. I disliked with how the Director treated people especially his own daughter! I'm curious to read the next book which I believe is the final book in this trilogy/series because I would like to see if the Director is taken down and defeated!

Only 8 squares to go...one team 1 square ahead of us, and several close behind! Though no one moved forward too much this week (just updated stats to the spreadsheet for everyone's spots). Read fast & fingers crossed for next week's draw, too!

I also seem to be a little lacking in yellow...but think this will work! (And it cuts down on my TBR freebies! Double good!)

Really good start to this series. I liked Amaranthe. She's intelligent, kick-ass, and even has some humor. I enjoyed how she went about recruiting the people she needed to enact her plan. I enjoyed the interplay between all the characters. I am interested to see how the next book plays out.

I picked this up as a freebie on Amazon, and it's been sitting in the pile for awhile. I'm glad I finally picked it up.
We're "in" on the secret pretty much from the start, but the new family that has arrived in Telluride is not your usual family. Emily (who's real name is Charity) is an immortal, as are her "aunt" and "uncle". She prefers to stay in the background, and not really connect with mortals, but that changes when she meets Link. They have a connection/spark from the start, and she runs into difficulties in keeping her secret. There are people out there trying to destroy these, as they believe, unnatural, evil beings.
It's girl-meets-boy with some baddies lurking in the background. What made it interesting was the different angle on these immortals. I enjoyed finding out details about them and others. What kept this from getting a higher rating was it's too condensed. It's short~260 pages~and more would have been better. The pace of discovery, etc. was a little too fast...a little more time in development would have made it better/smoother, IMO. But overall fun. The next in the series is available at a very reasonable price, so will continue.

REVIEW:
Okay, I loved this book.... At first, I was hesitant to read this- I mean, Aliens? Really? Shows me not to make assumptions....
Katherine Katt aka Kitty comes out of the court building one fine day to find an angry man suddenly sprouting wings, and knife-like objects are thrown out of his body which causes a major destruction. While scream and run in panic, Kitty becomes angry and kills the man with a pen. Soon, she is recruited by a top-secret government agency which aims at stopping such alien-parasite-infestations.
You would think from what I have said so far, that the story is silly. Nooooo...
I loved it that Kitty is portrayed as highly intelligent. Not only that, but it keeps us on the edge , as nothing is what it seems...
At first I was annoyed a bit because, it seemed there was a love triangle- Jeff-Kitty-Christopher, but everything worked out fine in the end. Although , I have to admit, both Jeff and Christopher were lovable characters. Angela Katt and David Katt- Kitty's father and mother were excellent characters too... And Claudia and Loraine, Dazzler Alien budding-Scientists were awesome too... In fact I liked many characters in this book....
This book was totally fun....

First in Cindy Gerard's Black Ops series. Lots of action suspense thriller type book. Loved it. We met several of the alpha men on the team. I'm looking forward to reading more of this series.

I really liked this book! This second book in the Tempest series concludes on a cliffhanger which makes me want to read the next book so much wanting to know what happens next, but it won't release til early 2014!

I have a Kindle Touch so I don't know if it will work. Plus, I want to look for another yellow book to read.

ETA: Checked my "to-order" shelf...and realized I still hadn't gotten this (so many good books to get & read...need more time!) and it finally was in my "price" zone! LOL! Decided.
Reading...very, very yellow!

Overall it was good. I enjoyed the writing style. I rated this a little lower than I otherwise would have- I thought Vere's anger was uncalled for as he was playing a part/roll too. I also thought he was forgiven too easily for the things he said and did.

Let me admit, I simply love steampunk books... The first few chapters of this book went slowly... But, soon the book picked up its pace and finished with an awesome big bang....
Once again agents Books and Braun find themselves in the midst of yet another series of peculiar occurrences. Important and noteworthy ladies of the suffragist movement keep disappearing within blue light, and the people surrounding them are burnt from the static electricity. Books and Braun must quickly get to the bottom of this before the whole suffragist movement collapses.
Once again the Ministry Seven make an appearance in this book. I do like them, and Alice, of course! The relationship between Books and Braun also grow well in this book... These books keep getting better and better...
Definitely a must-read book for all steampunk lovers.

Review: This installment of the Ghostwalkers series you meet a brand new team. I missed the old teams, lol. MC's Jaimie and Mack. Jaimie 2 yrs ago broke off from their team to live alone as she had a hard time handling the violence with her abilities leaving Mack alone. Mack is angry as he never thought he "needed" her or that she would ever truly run from him and be able to survive. Interesting story. Enjoyed getting to meet a whole new team. More happens in the Whitney camp. Can't say that I liked Mack at all really. Just rubbed me the wrong way. Still love this series.

Another long-time favorite, and I put off reading this one...planned to wait until the final installment was out, but, YELLOW cover...lol...glad I didn't resist, but it's hard to wait for the last one.
Sookie has retained her charm for me over this whole series, and while a couple haven't been as great, overall the series has been extremely satisfying.
Sookie and Eric are still an item, with Bill throwing longing glances from the sidelines, as always. The romantic twist is the marriage contract Eric's "father" made...which leaves some doubts about what will happen with Sookie and Eric. There's also the problem of the king's investigation into a suspected murder, with Eric at the top of the suspect list, and then another dead (truly dead) shows up on Eric's lawn. Then, the whole situation with Sam and his (jealous) werewolf girlfriend.
Lots of threads and lots of favorites in this tale, and it was a fun read. I'll be sad to say "goodbye" to Sookie et al, but it's been great...just a couple more months until I can find out how it all turns out for her!

REVIEW:
Sigh! Another good urban fantasy series...
Celia, Shayna, Taran, and Emme are four sister with unique magical abilities. They are always there for each other and protect themselves. They are soon put in a situation where they have to side with a vampire Misha, to eradicate Bloodthirst which is springing up everywhere and infecting all Misha's vampires.
Celia is the eldest sister, and is almost in a parental role, protecting her sisters. Emme can heal anyone, Shayna can turn most objects into pointy weapons and swords and Taran can summon lightning bolts and magic!!!
Add to that, the fact that Celia can shift into a tigress and is responsible, strong, determined and caring, and she always puts her sisters first. Into the picture comes Aric, a pure blood werewolf and his pack including Koda, Gemini and Liam!!! Hmmm... Suddenly Celia finds herself in the receiving end of the affections of both Aric and Misha.
Celia has her plate full battling these attractions and trying to find who is infecting the vampires and causing the bloodlust-Saving in the world in general...
An excellent start, to what I hope is another great urban fantasy series !!!
