Thomas Goodman answered Lee Schafer's question: In the Last Man, were there no ballistics in the late 1920's? Why was it not double jeopardy to try Marshall Ratliff for the same crime multiple times? Have laws changed since, that a person cannot be tried individually for each separate crime committed within the same continuous crime? An estimated 200 rounds of ammo were shot into and out of that narrow alleyway in 15 minutes. The defense suggested that the officers were downed by friendly fire.
