Susan Lyn is the merry widow with a naughty twinkle in her eye. She has a great appreciation for a fantastic set of abs and vows to be that resident on the front porch of her nursing home who 'accidentally' drops her cane to watch the delivery men bend over to retrieve it for her.

She got hooked on romances when she was twelve. Her mother and grandmothers were voracious readers but they refused to let Susan read the books they deemed too steamy for her delicate pre-teen sensibilities. There are unconfirmed reports, she may have pilfered some of the forbidden books. Which would also explain her ability to read quickly, as it was imperative to finish those novels before their absence was discovered.

My pressure can be writing related or from my life away from the page. I always have multiple projects going, so I can hop from one to another when one goes stale. Always with the intention (and estimated timeline) to finish
.
If you want to publish, treat writing as a business. Sure, there are days you don't feel like writing, use them to market, plot out a new story or read a book (for research of course). Always move forward toward your goal.

When you have a clear set of goals, you also give yourself directions which helps prevent you from getting blocked or stagnant.

On the days I get blocked, I don't criticize myself. I recognize it for what it is and move on with something else. The block usually releases that night, just as I'm trying to fall asleep... sigh(less)

You can't edit and publish what you haven't written and it's hard to write when too many constraints are bouncing around in your head.
2) If writing for a living is your goal, do your research. Learn the process, requirements and expectations of the industry. Gone are the days when you're first draft is whisked away to the best-sellers list.
3) Hone your craft. Be always learning and getting better. Spelling and grammar are important and not paying attention to them is costly. If your book filled with errors, people won't buy anything else you've written. (Kindle Unlimited pays by the page, if people abandon your book after a few pages, you're only paid royalties on the pages read,)
4) Learn from bad reviews. Some people are jerks and will leave bad reviews just because. But some people will give constructive reviews that can help you make your writing better. This information can be worth it's weight in gold. (less)

Mentorship is important

When I left my hometown to move out west, there wasn’t much of a writing community to leave behind. The only writing event I had found was a luncheon hosted by Dorothy Dearborn, a popular local fiction writer, who hosted a monthly lunch for PWAC. Officially, I couldn’t be a member because I hadn’t been published yet, but they took me under their wing to help me along my journey.

After moving to Van

This was a very clever read. The intertwining characters were well done. It's a fast paced read that can be finished in one sitting. It could have easily been another 100 pages without losing its energy. ...more

I'm usually more of a romance girl, yet I felt compelled to take this wild ride into madness. The first part was chaotic (just like the original). The middle and ending were insane in all the best ways. The mind-bending finish was entirely satisfying ...more
