This series is set in the 1930s and '40s and follows authoress Barbara Buncle.
Note, the series is often considered a trilogy, but a 4th book, The Four Graces, is loosely connected to the earlier books. It takes place around Wandlebury and Chevis Place (as does book 2 and 3), however Barbara makes only a cameo in the first chapter.
