Scarlet Darkwood wields a mighty pen, or at the very least, delivers mighty punches to the computer keys when she's typing furiously on a story. She likes dark and twisted, and the weirder, the better.

Always preferring avant garde themes, her stories take the reader on unusual adventures, exploring the darker parts of the human psyche as she whips out cunning prose wrapped in provocative themes. Sometimes she veers from her beaten path and takes a happy-go-lucky romp in the brighter sides of life, kicking up her style into sharp, snappy dialogue and clever descriptions.

My mother started purchasing the "Queen" dolls from a company called The Franklin Mint. I had Queen Elizabeth I, Queen Victoria, Queen Elizabeth II, etc. All the dolls were well-cared for. But the strangest thing happened to the Queen Victoria Doll. She started developing black spots under her eyes and on her face. It looked as if she were crying black tears. It was creepy looking, and my mother and I could never understand why these tear-like dark spots developed, as the doll had been well-cared for. My answer was that Victoria was mourning the loss of her beloved Albert.(less)

They know how to get what they want and what they need. However, I think Scarlett pushed too far with Ashley, and finally Rhett got tired of it. Can't blame him there. Their conflict is snappy and pulls you into their story, and though Scarlett learns a little too late, she truly loves Rhett and the security she feels when she's around him. She also fits the modern-day version of the "strong" woman, overcoming war, near-loss of Tara, and the upheavals of romance. (less)
