Richard I Levine is a native New Yorker raised in the shadows of Yankee Stadium. After dabbling in several occupations and a one-year coast-to-coast wanderlust trip, This one-time auxiliary police officer, volunteer fireman, bartender, and store manager returned to school to become a chiropractor.

A twenty-five-year cancer survivor, he’s a strong advocate for the natural healing arts. In 2006 he wrote, produced, and was on-air personality of The Dr. Rich Levine Show on Seattle’s KKNW 1150AM and after a twenty-five-year chiropractic practice in Bellevue, Washington, he closed up shop at the end of 2016 and moved to Oahu to pursue a dream of acting and being on Hawaii 5-O.

Also, knowing that I can change anything during the process allows me to explore with reckless abandon. Nothing is off limits. So, when I sit at the computer I have no expectations other than to continue the journey that I started. Let the detours come. That's what makes this fun. Some nights I write a sentence. Some nights I write a paragraph, some nights, I write several pages. Sometimes I reread pages of dialogue that I wrote the night before and because I was so deep in a zone, It was as if the characters themselves took control of the story. And then there are some nights there's nothing traveling from the deep recesses of my mind through the nerve pathways that make my finger tips dance across the keyboard. I accept whatever is available to me that particular night as a gift and celebrate the new addition with the knowledge that it can always be added to, edited, or deleted just the same. Since I write for my own entertainment, if there is little or nothing on any given night, I don't force the issue. At the risk of sounding arrogant and/or ignorant, I have never understood those who say they suffer for their art. Except for a contractual obligation with time constraints, I have never understood why someone would mentally torture themselves by staring at a blank piece of paper or a computer monitor for hours/days on end. To me, creating has always been my escape, my entertainment, and my pleasure. I'm not going to treat it any other way.(less)

"I can write little about this novel without spoilers, which would be an injustice to the remarkable reading experience that it is. So many twists and turns await the audience of author Richard I. Levine. Readers quickly realize, for example, that it " Read more of this review »

"A nice read

I enjoyed how the author shows love evolving over time instead of freezing it in the past. The themes of forgiveness and second chances are handled with maturity and realism."

"I enjoyed how memory plays such a strong role in the storytelling, giving the novel a reflective, almost bittersweet tone. This book focuses less on dramatic twists and more on emotional truth, which made it feel mature and heartfelt."

"Nostalgic

I think this book was deeply nostalgic in the best possible way. The small-town setting, the childhood bond, and the sense of time passing all came together beautifully.
