Excellent insightful review, Lex. Helps deciding. I guess I'll leave this one out of the already massive TBR pile.

Hsinju- Like I mentioned I was worried about being overly sensitive, but it happened twice and made me feel uncomfortable twice. Its a bummer since there was a lot of good parts too. And thanks so much!

YVW:) Yeah it was just really bad timing and enough to make me feel uncomfortable, which is not what i want when reading a sex scene.
Yes I felt uncomfortable at the first scene you dexcribed but I hadn't analysed why. But I agree Maya being an ex-con (not a naive goody-goody) was a cool addition to the usual trope
