I enjoyed it. It was slow to start for me and I put it down a lot but then it took off and I enjoyed it. Fans of the Wizard of Oz should enjoy this.

Wow! No flying monkeys for you! I was scared of them as a kid. lol Now when I watch it, they look ridiculous but as a 6 y.o. they were scary.

Debra, about the controversy I don't know anything!!
But, I can remember what an impact the colors in the movie had for me..
It was amazing!!!
We had previously only a black and white television set, and recently had bought a color TV..
So, Judy Garland in the first 20 min. of the film, you can see her only without colors..
But then suddenly as she arrive in Oz, then she opens the door, and this colors assault and overwhelm you!!!
This was great, amazing and did leave unforgotten traces in my memory..
Wonderful, awesomel..
And yes, once a year watching the movie is a wonderful idea..
By the way I have bought a DVD of the Wizard Of Oz, and so I can watrch it again and again..
The song by Judy Garland "Over The Rainbow" is an evelasting evergreen, and one of my all times favorites ever and ever!!!

Dean there was something about them wanting to colorize the entire thing. But I think it is more powerful, as you mentioned, when the colors came into play. Showed how she felt in the beginning of the movie and then *bam* the colors of oz. They just showed the Wizard of Oz in theaters for 3 days to mark the 80th anniversary of the film.

How fast time runs, let us enjoy good books and movies and have fellowship together..
So, a great book, and a wonderful movie!!!
The novel is always better than the film, but in this case I'm not so sure of it!!

That was a great review of an interesting story. I have heard from several people that if you start Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" album when the lion roars on the screen in the beginning of "Wizard of Oz" that it is pretty neat. I have never done that, even though I am Floyd fan, nor do I know if you have to be coherent while viewing. Have you ever heard that?
