I can already feel that shit will go down, i'm so excited man!
Fantasy is my main genre, but young adult isn’t. I bought this series earlier this year in hard cover, that’s how much I loved it. The second book is definitely my favourite so far.

I don't understand how this book can be considered "young adult" with everything that it entails, to be honest. But honestly, it's one of my favs from this year. I so can't wait for the next one to arrive, how am I supposed to live till then???

It's actually New Adult but the first was marketed as YA but NA is a newer sub genre and it's small. Now her books are marketed as New Adult.
Just wait till A Court of Mist and Fury - OMFG the Romance is even hotter if you can believe it! Personally ACOTAR was my least favourite of the series (although I still love it). Each book just keeps getting better and better as you delve deeper into the lore. Best characters are definitely to come in the next book!

This is more accurate actually, the book was too graphic and sexual to be YA, but YA is more popular.

EVERYONE has told me the other books are better! Especially the 2nd one! Ok how much more excited can you guys make me?? The book won't be here till Wednesday or Thursday the latest. FUCK ME
Because young adult is 13-17 so it’s fine. I also don’t believe in “new adult”. There’s young adult or regular, lol. I’d be okay with my 13 year old (if I ever have one) reading this.
I’m glad you enjoyed this book. It’s pretty much a given that most people love the second book more than the first so you are in for a quite a ride. Love your review.

The New Adult subgenre have protagonist from the ages 18 to 30 so it's in between YA and Adult.
New Adult isn’t actually a thing, at all. It’s a way for young adult marketers to continue marketing to young adult because “fantasy” alone scares most young adult readers because they think GRRM and thick books.
Absolutely no protagonist over the age of 19 is a “new adult”. I’ll give 18 year olds a “new adult” tag but that’s it.

New Adult is a thing. A new thing but it's a thing that considered a subgenre of Adult. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_adu...
It may have started as a marketing ploy but now it does have it's own legs. Even if they are new legs.

I think some YA readers have read GRRM books thanks to the show so I don't think some are scared of thick books or fantasy at all.( Along with Lord of the Rings) Hell Harry Potter got thicker as the series progress. ( Even tho it's not technically YA )Which actually helped YA cause some authors weren't scared to have a book that's over 500 pages or more for YA anymore.
Harry Potter is YA. The first book is technically “middle grade”, but it’s marketed as YA.
And I’m not going to argue with you about a made up genre.
Who’s arguing? I thought we were having a “discussion”about New Adult being a subgenre but alas.
I’m so sorry Maria that we used your review as a discussion tread. I hope you enjoy ACOMAF cause it’s the best one of the series.

No one is going to say anything because you need to read the other two books to find out. They’re worth it.
