I just finished the first book through a buddy read! Honestly I think that’s the best experience with a book like this!

The entire series is fabulous. When I reread (probably every 18 months or so) I tend to skip parts of book 7 because they deal with a character that I don't particularly like all that much, but this is my second favorite series (first is a tie between Harry Potter and JD Robb's In Death).
I have put it off for the same reasons as you, but I'm glad you liked it! I'm planning to take the plunge soon.

I’m definitely thinking I need to continue on. Initially I was thrown off when I found out it skips forward 20 years and had to process. 🤣

Absolutely!! I just recommended the audio version to someone specifically because of Davina Porter! She truly brings the stories alive! I am part way through the print copy of Written in my Hearts Own Blood. I miss Davina!
