I just watched the movie the other day and it was soooo sad! I really liked Fiamma!! It was creepy how Miss G was so obsessed with her, i hated that she raped Fiamma and just totally got away with it...Eva Green gave a very creepy performance as Miss G...i haven't read the book and i don't know if i will since everyone's reviews are soo bad
I was struck by your comment that you love boarding school novels. Let me suggest Patrick Gale's Friendly Fire, which I just loved.
I wish you would have put spoiler before your last bit...you ruined it for me.
