A trilogy would be cool actually because I liked the story that much ... but if not, well - it was still a worthy read.
Yeah, I completely agree with you. Even though the ending was nearly torture for me, I still catch myself thinking about this book weeks later. The overall story stuck with me. I look forward to seeing where Brashares takes this, but even if she wasn't going to make it into a series, I'd still have been happy to have read it. Definitely--as you put it--a worthy read.
Kimmy, same here! I was in such denial at the time I just had to google it to be certain. And now, after a couple years of not hearing anything, your comment spurred me to re-google. Apparently, due to dwindling sales, its publisher decided not to push for the sequel. It's unfortunate, I was really looking forward to some closure.
That is so frustrating!! This could have been a favorite but now it sounds like it'll just be a disappointment. Which is a shame...it may have been her best. Ugh.
i read somewhere that this book didn't sell enough for it to be a trilogy. we may never know what happens! ugh. feeling like hazel grace in the fault in our stars...

Yeah! I read that too :/ Thanks for the reminder, I posted about it in the comments but forgot to update the review. Such a bummer! Maybe, like Hazel, we should track down Ann Brashares and petition her to tell us how it was going to end...though, hopefully we have better luck getting answers :)
