Excellent summary, Jenny. Most of the Shakespeare plays I have left to read are the ones that aren't popular. It's hard to know where to begin or how to grade them. I remember enjoying Measure For Measure in college, but I was also enjoying Cypress Hill at the time. It might not hold up either.
I was talking to my friend about Shakespeare and looked back at this review. I'm sorry I never answered you, Joe! I thought I had, I think. Thank you, and I'm in the same position you are now. I've read MOST of the higher-rated Shakespeare plays, and it's hard to be enthusiastic about the others. Then again, sometimes the literature a majority loves isn't my favorite, and vice versa :) when you're ready to read another Shakespeare, let me know, and if I haven't read it yet, I'll read it too, so we can compare notes!
I don’t, unfortunately. I think it’s a fascinating story, though. If I ever come across one, I’ll share it here! And if you do, please share? I’m glad I’m not alone in how I feel about this play!
