John isn't the last chapter of Ulysses just 4 sentences? I guess what I'm saying is if you think 1.5 pages is too long, you're just not trying hard enough.

Cynthisa I bailed on this book after only about 20 or so pages. Just wasn't feeling up to deciphering a high-concept meta-tale on loss and etc etc etc. I hate bailing on promising authors (which, Charles Yu, the author, clearly is). Your review alleviated my guilt. (God, I love GoodReads, lol!) Thanks!

Yes, but it's Ulysses. Apples and oranges. I don't remember finishing it either. :)

Jamie I bailed after about 80-90 pages. It was supposed to be funny, but was depressing instead. Reminded me too much of when I rented "Grand Canyon" because the cast (Steve Martin, Kevin Kline, Danny Glover) seemed like it'd be a great comedy - instead, it was depressing, aimless, and meaningless.
