Thanks Cara. I wrote this review eons ago, five people have marked that they liked it and you are the first to point out that blatantly obvious mistake. Just fixed it.
I really did not like this book one tiny bit. Tom was one of the best characters ever (i'm not just saying that because of how unbelivably gorgeous the actor who played Tom Sawyer was in The League of Extroidinary Gentlemen), but I just did not like it.
Sixty two years ago I lived a Tom Sawyer year in Independence LA and unlike much of my life since I was completely aware that that year in Independence was my "Tom Sawyer year" because that was the year I read the book and seemed to read the less dramatic parts, bamboo fishing pole and all. YOU KNOW I HAD SOMETHING CLEVER TO SAY BUT SINCE goodreads DOESN"T ALLOW ME TO CORECT.....never mind!!!!!!!
This book is a classic. It really transports you into the 1800s. It is a great book. I can't believe it was written in the in the 1800s. It seems like a book that would be written later in time. I also have read Huckleberry Finn. They are both good books but the Huckleberry Finn makes more sense once you have read Tom Sawyer.
