So glad you loved this one as much as I did! Thank you for putting it all into words - I was so overwhelmed with love at the time I didn't even know how

this review was bananas hard to write. like how do you describe the beauty of this book???? ugh it's the best
My favorite read of 2015.
For reference: on that same year I read the whole A Song of Ice and Fire series. That's thousands and thousands of pages. You must be very invested to make that commitment. Still I'll give you the son took the cake.

damn! that's impressive. (both your commitment and this book's amazingness.)
i've been on a rereading kick of late that has been truly a mixed bag. totally expected this book to disappoint - and then it managed to be 1000x better than i remembered. God. now to spend the rest of the year trawling Jandy Nelson's twitter for updates on her next book.
Thanks!
I had suppress the urge to re-read it on the spot.
I'm really glad you loved it the second time around it speaks volumes of the book, because your reviews might be anything but sugar-coated. Haha.

reread it! reread it! reread it!
hahaha - that's the other thing about this rereading frenzy. my old reviews are so wholesome; just like, "this book is so great!" and then current me is all, "oh, REALLY?! two stars!" what happened to me?!
The catcher in the rye is higher on the re-read list, but will define get to it.
Haha. I know. Some memories get tarnished, but is good to see how we grow and change as readers.
How we went from impressionable, wide-eyed youngster to our cynical and harsh selves. Haha.

I've been wanting to read this book for sooooo long, but the only copy I've ever found is in Swedish and there ain't no way in hell I'm buying that hehe.
This review was so good and just makes me want to read this more! Ugh, I hope I can find a copy when I go to Scotland next week :)

Update: Went to Scotland, found the LAST COPY of this book that they had at Waterstones, read it, cried, died, fangirled, drew shitty fanart, wrote a review, published the review.
To put it simply: I would now be more than willing to sell my soul to Satan if it meant I would get another Jandy Nelson book this great.

I love this book. I read it directly after Jennifer Niven's All the Bright Places (which I also love) and I was in book heaven for a solid week. It was brilliant.

I absolutely LOVED this book! It made me feel all warm inside and got my creative juices flowing! OSCAR!! OMG!! I couldn't! His "Lean better than James Dean himself"!! And I loved how Jandy Nelson wrote it! It's beautifully written and the perspectives!! AHHHHHHH!!!! After reading it, I was just sat it down, took a second to think about everything I read, said, "No wonder it won a Michael L. Printz award, thought again, picked up the book, and read it again!
I just finished this book and now I don't know what to do with me, so I'm just gonna lie here staring in space for the next 20 years or so.
I love how we are book soul mates ❤️ I fell in love with this book instantly, your reviews are out of this worldly, please never stop ❤️
This has been sitting on my shelf for the longest time and if this reread makes you realize you don’t like it anymore I will be SAD and not want to read it anymore

kristin if i don't like it anymore i'm going to live in a cave for a decade. that'll be all i can take of society
relatable content i'm not humanly capable of rereading this book without crying and then being melancholy for a week.
Just started reading this book today and am now extremely excited yet beyond terrified for the good cry I am about to endeavour in!
