may I make a non-book recommendation? There's a podcast called The Thrilling Adventure Hour done in the style of old time radio. It's modern though; actually, it's a live show in LA, but they break it up and send it out weekly. There are different serials about 20 mins each, in different genres. It's pretty awesome.
I would also like to make a podcast recommendation. It's a podcast called "Selected Shorts". It features well-known actors, authors, and creatives reading famous short-stories.
