Is this for a class assignment or something? Because if you're just looking for good YA Fantasy then I would direct you to another author. Also, there are many good adult authors who write material that can be age appropriate for a normal "YA" reader.
No. I have just heard great things about Cassandra Clare so I wanna start reading her books.
OK, writing is on a very "Twilight" level, imo. But, I would start at City of Bones. If you're looking for more of that type then also Sarah J. Maas and Jennifer L Armentrount might interest you. They're writing is also marginally better.
City of Bones, definitely! After the Mortal Instruments series I recommend moving on to The Infernal Devices.
