Cynthia already sent the links.
So, all you need to know about the first book (and I don't want to spoil much- plus the background info I'm gonna be giving you is gonna be very similar to Cynthia's) is that there are 4 "main" characters: Mare, Kilorn, Cal, and Maven. So, there are 2 different kinds of blood; silver and red. Those with silver blood have supernatural abilities, and those with red are just normal. The Silvers are treated like gods, and Red are like their slaves, because they do not have godlike powers. But one day, Mare finds out that she can control/create lightning even though she's a Red, during a Queenstrial, a ceremony that is watched live by Silver Nobles. (I don't want to spoil more so you can just read it-)

Reds*

Also, Cal is a prince (heir to the throne), and Maven is the younger prince. Kilorn is Mare's best friend- who is also "poor" like Mare (once was).

thx.
