A Shingle Shard by Linda Sue Park is technically Korea or something? But still good. Heart Of A Samurai by Margi Preus is in Japan but also nice. :P I can't remember one other set in China and now I'm mad...
Though, Bound by Donna Jo Napoli is in China. I haven't read it but I read one Napoli book and it was OK.
I actually found it -- Chu Ju's House by Gloria Whelan is in China. All the ones I listed are historical, by the way, and middle grade-ish. :P Sorry.

It's a good one - I get excited to recommend it because I really enjoyed it myself. IDK if it's "YA" necessarily but the main character is a teen so I would say it kinda qualifies
House of Sixty Fathers by Meindert Dejong is a great historical fiction one set in China during WW2. Left to Die by Ivy (or Hailey) Rose is a great contemporary one. And then there's always the Sister of the Sword series. :)
I have heard of Left To Die, it has strong pro-life themes! :)
