Foreign Grid Dont read the second Percy Jackson series though =_= It... goes downhill (and I dont just mean the bit about the D'Angelo kid I mean in general)

Foreign Grid The first series is okay though. I liked it when I read it.

Foreign Grid Now I might have some qualms about it, but still.

message 4: by Donna (new)

Donna Oh yeah, I think I heard the second series was disappointing. Thanks for the warning! (To tell the truth I forgot it even existed until you mentioned it. XD)

Foreign Grid Fun fact tho, I went to the high school were Rick used to teach Latin. I even once used the used physics book that used to be owned by one of the Stoll Brothers (Rick used the names of some of his students as characters) and had Connor Stoll as my math substitute teacher once. I forgot what we did in class that day but it was kinda boring.

Foreign Grid I think two of his sons were in there when I was there too, but I never talked to them to my knowledge.

Frog That's so cool ^^^^

Keith What do you mean "supposed"? Is there some Thought Police squad going around demanding that everyone read the same books? :-P

message 9: by Donna (new)

Donna It was a joke. I do feel a bit like I've missed out on stuff tho. Care to recommend some "must-reads"?

message 10: by Keith (new)

Keith I don't believe in "must-reads", because I don't think anyone should be made to feel obligated to read a book if its writing style or subject matter just isn't for them. I'll make some recommendations, though.

Donna Ok, how about "books with cultural significance (preferably not boring)", or "books by generally acknowledges as being really good or enjoyable by authors who are really good", or just "books that I happen to like"? :P (Thank you for the rec.)
