I am definately not the expert on PNR and have only been reading it for a little over a year, but my recommendations would be Murder Game by Christine Feehan, Bearing it for the Outlaw by Jenika Snow, both Valiant and Wrath from the New Species series by Laurann Dohner. And Dark Dream also by Christine Feehan. I think these are more couple focused and the heroine's did not annoy me. I also loved Keeping Her by Kelly Lucille (funny and quick), Grim by MK Eidem (kind of campy but I loved it), Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison (although I thought it was slow to get going I ended up loving it) and Fated by Rebecca Zanetti. I hope you find some you love.
