That's an odd thing to ask here. May I ask why you wish to do that?

The whole concept behind Goodreads is to share what books you've shelved, so there isn't a function for that.

You can make your profile private, that's about it.

That's not true. Go to your settings you can change what gets added to your news feed for your friends to see.

Maybe you should change your profile also. I know there are some books that I read on here that I wouldn't want my younger goodreads friends to see

Regardless of setting your profile to private anyone who clicks on you can see the books you've read. If you don't want family/friends to see then I'd suggest not using your real name and not adding them as friends or have 2 accounts.

Sam is right about a second account being the only way. Goodreads is designed around sharing the very information you want to hide. Anyone who is friends with you on GR can see what you've shelved on your profile. Someone who isn't a friend can't see the books listed on your profile, but if they are on the page of a book you have shelved, they will still be able to see it there along with any rating or reviews you entered.

Profile> under your favourite books click "feature a different shelf> choose to tick a particular shelf or none
