i actually prefer, Patterson to Cornwell. i am always trying to find a new author. good luck!!
Patterson's more procedural and Cornwell is forensic. You might look at Kathy Reichs.
Agreed--Cornwell is very forensic (and in my opinion) a much better story teller. However, her earilier works are much, much better. Good luck! Try Michael Connelly too if you like Cornwell.
