drank some kind of elixir for that purpose. It may, however, also have been part of what hid her femaleness in general, and I don't recall at one point she understood the full purpose(s) of what she was taking. And I haven't yet got around to the final book, and she's destined to be queen, so her interest in pregnancy may shift. Although the series is normally classified as adult fiction, it centers around a YA character -- as well as her friend/love interest -- and has appeal factors for YA readers. In fact, I started reading it when I still fit into the YA category!
