Thanks for the rec! The first two books have no lgbt content, then? Either way I'll probably check them out as well.
No, the first two really don't. The whole series is excellent though, I highly recommend it. Reading the first book will give you a lot more understanding for the third book. I will warn you that the whole series deals with a lot of heavy and dark themes (the aftermath of abuse) but I think it is very well done and each book focuses on one character's growth/coming of age, all set against a military scifi/space opera backdrop.

I do not mind dark themes at all, in fact I appreciate it as a stellar opportunity to explore the depth of the human experience. I have been interested in something along these lines for quite a while now so I cannot thank you enough.
