“Joshua.” My name softly escapes her lips as if she's dreaming, and it sounds … almost magical. I hate 'Joshua,' especially since only the old man ever called me that, and usually he made it sound like an epithet. But somehow, in her slumber, Samantha has made it sound almost sacred.”

“Hi, Sunshine,” he says quietly. Then he leans down and lightly kisses my forehead.

“Why do you call me that?” I ask softly as I snuggle closer to him. He says nothing but looks at me with the strangest expression. If I didn't know any better, I would say he was a little embarrassed. He gives me a small smile that tells me he's got a secret, and I watch as the secret smile suddenly morphs into that heartbreaking shy smile of his that I love. Oh, boy! Could he be any more adorable than he already is? I giggle softly at his reaction. “You're not going to tell me, are you?”

“Maybe someday,” he says quietly, still smiling at me. “

That's not fair,” I whisper, running my hand lightly over his arm.

He chuckles softly. “All's fair in love and nicknames,” he mutters quietly, and I stop breathing. Did he just say love?”

“You are so handsome it should be a crime, Detective.” My voice is soft and full of longing, and he turns and gives me that devastatingly sexy smile of his. Oh, boy!

    “Is that so, Miss Colby?”

“Mmm hmm,” I manage as he saunters over to me with a chuckle.

“Well maybe you can handcuff me to the bed later,” he whispers.”

“When his solo came at the end of the song, he poured his heart into it, directing all of his energy into the guitar in his hands and projecting it out toward her. As his fingers moved over the strings, he imagined them moving over her skin. Caressing her body, intimately exploring the sensitive flesh of her inner folds. In his mind, he could see it all so clearly, the images from that night flooding his brain as he played. Touching her. Kissing her. He was momentarily transported back to that night and he lost himself in it.”

“You are so amazing, Donna,” he panted softly as he held her.

Lifting her head, she looked into his eyes and smiled. “Think you'll still be saying that fifty years from now when my breasts are sagging down to my naval and I'm covered with wrinkles?”
