“A strange, deep roaring sound akin to a giant rusted train horn filled the air suddenly, shaking eyes and eardrums as it passed. Kedaya froze up in her place and appeared ill. She looked to the east and started walking backward. “I've heard that sound before. Let's not go that way, okay?”
Ayohka swallowed her fear and grabbed Kedaya's shoulder. “What the hell was that?”
Kedaya pushed away from Ayohka and shook her head. “Let's just say that big lizard is an absurd understatement, and I've got no idea how these Bukwas plan to deal with it without getting eaten.”
