Nicole Pierman I need to be in burning phoenix mode and not stressed to write! I'm what you'd call a phoenix writer, a term coined by Becca Syme. I have waves of writing and then I "burn out" like a phoenix. That's where I don't write at all for a while. But it's a cycle of burning bright/writing a bunch, then fizzling out for a while with no writing, and then back to burning bright until the book is done.
