I am definitely not arguing with anyone, but why does everyone hate Jason? I havent read the HOH since pretty much its release date last year, so i dont remember much, so wht happened to make everyone hate Jason Grace?

Nothing, it's just his personality and the way he acts.
(and maybe the fact that he could have flown down and save Annabeth and Percy before they fell into Tartarus)

My least favorite character has got to be Jason, I don't hate him but his definitely my least favorite

JASON OF COURSE! IS THAT EVEN QUESTIONABLE?? He's trying to be cool, funny, and sassy but it's NOT WORKING! He will never be comparable to Percy, NEVER! And how can anyone hate Percy, Annabeth or Leo Valdez? They're like the best characters!!

I just- I- I can't answer this question. I'm not even voting.
Annabeth, Percy, and Leo are my favorites of the seven. I don't have anything against Frank. Or Hazel. Piper is pretty cool, especially for a child of Aphrodite. Jason's cool.
I don't know 'cause I'm not even voting, but I bet most people will vote Frank. I don't get why, but whatever.

I just cannot decide... they are all important ESPECIALLY SINCE THE BLOOD OF OLYMPUS came out.
Percy is loyal and was the first character we ever met- the backbone for the seven, no, wait the glue.
Annabeth is so smart and intelligent... they'd struggle without her as shown in the House of Hades.
Jason- is a link to the Romans. He is THALIA's brother. He is so brave and inspired Brason which is ridiculous but somehow funny...
Piper is the talker and obviously the best singer- she can be so insecure but she is the perfect battle partner for Annabeth, they contrast each other beautifully. PLUS PIPER MCLEAN IS NOT A MARY SUE!
Frank is so sweet but he knows when to sacrifice things- even if he knows how much it hurts.
Hazel is the boss with magic and is so brave- she sacrificed her life to just delay Gaia!
Leo- who could hate him? He's funny, sarcastic... sacrificial. Witty. Clever with his hands.

So in conclusion is that my least favourite of the 7 is Octavian.
I realise that that is not an option, but I could not bring myself to choose any one else.

I guess people do say "A haters gonna hate" But Caps Locks is a bit extreme.

Plus Jason Grace has done nothing wrong, it is not his fault and he has a perfectly good excuse to why he always follows the rules. He grew up in a strict Roman camp with the shadow of the legacy of his father, Jupiter, always looming over him. Percy had a loving parent, and the Greek Camp is just a tad bit more carefree. Plus, I value my individuality and will not let someone tell me who to like for goodness sake.

His Mum abandoned him when he was 2 and made a promise which was false- and if you had your memory wiped and suddenly you were on a bus with a bunch of people you didn't know, wouldn't you be slightly creeped out?

My favorites are Percy, Annabeth and Leo. I don't really like or dislike the other four. Although occasionally I dislike Jason for trying to be cooler than Percy.

In order of complete uselessness: Piper, Hazel, Frank then Jason. Piper and Hazel = 1/5 of Annabeth's toe, Frank = Cowardly useless hunk of meat that had so much potential and Jason was the biggest let down! He was supposed to be the Roman Percy! Instead he isn't even a character! He's dead and empty with no real emotion! I hated reading all of their POVs! Just give me Percabeth, Nico,Leo, Coach Hedge and Camp Half Blood Please!

"Frank basically does nothing?" Where would they be without Frank? He freed Thanathos. If Thanathos hadn't been freed, what would have happened? He was the only one that could do it.

Ok, so y'all going to hate me for this, but I kind of find Annabeth annoying. She's kind of...overly glorified in the fandom community.

I have nothing against Jason, Frank, and Piper though. They're fine. They're not my favorite characters, but they aren't bad.

And seriously, who can hate on Percy or Leo though? :)

I'm very late to this discussion, but I figured I'd just throw my own thoughts in. My favorite characters by far are the originals, Percy and Annabeth, it's just not the same without them. I was very disappointed when we didn't even get a Percy POV in the final book, and he basically contributed nothing to the final battle. This brings me to the new characters. I'll run through these one by one.

Jason, I think he's kind of a mary sue, handsome, son of Zeus (or Jupiter I guess) just all around great guy, I just find him unrelatable and too much of a fanfiction character. This might be why everyone hates him so much. Personally I don't hate him, I just find him boring, like Percy without his personality.

Piper, I think she could've been done much better, this is what happens when you have too many demigods in Hades' kitchen, so to speak. I couldn't get invested in Piper because the story kept demanding others be in the spotlight. And even in the first book, all she does is complain about Aphrodite and get in a rivalry with Drew Tanaka. I felt more attachment to Drew than I did to Piper, that tells me that this was not a great character.

Hazel, I think her backstory is more interesting than her current self. She has her moments, but it doesn't help that she interacts a lot with Nico di Angelo, a classic PJO character and one of my favorites. Overall, not bad, she just didn't do that much for me.

Frank, people say he's annoying, and yeah I kind of see that. I do think it's funny that he's the son of the war god. I mean think of all the bloodthirsty Ares kids like Clarisse, then imagine this guy as their relative. He seems like a nice guy and all, but yeah, once again there were too many characters and Frank ends up being one of the odd ones out.

Leo is my least favorite. I have my reasons. That's all I can say without launching into a huge rant.

This is interesting! Rick Riordan's books have always been my soft spot for books, and I'm not overly analytical of books (but I can be); I see where you are coming from, but I believe that his characters are one of his strong points. We'll agree to disagree, I guess!

I personally do not like Piper that much because she seems to have only a tiny bit of personality. Her relationship with Jason seems very sudden, and I feel like Jason should've been with Reyna rather than Piper. She's kind of like your average fiction female: The one who is beautiful but doesn't want to be beautiful. Plus: Why all the hate on Frank and Annabeth? Frank is such a beautiful character because he has so much power, but he underestimates himself. He is not annoying, he just has insecurities that both you and I have from time to time. Plus, his grandmother is hella scary. Annabeth is not as full of herself as you think, because in the first series she admits her problem is her pride. Those are just my thoughts.

I agree with Aoi completely! That's pretty much my feelings on Piper spot on, also Frank and Annabeth too who I actuallyy love. Frank was one of my favorites out of that group, of course my main fave is Percy though followed by Leo.

This is a really interesting poll!

Personally, Piper was my least favorite character, even from the beginning. I would've thought it woulda been more interesting if she struggled with identity issues and never thought she was beautiful, and then came around to the realization that she was instead of the "I wish I wasn't beautiful" seminar we had with her. I think more people would have resonanted with the first one, and she could've been a great role model that way.

I really struggle with Annabeth sometimes. I like her, but sometimes she gets on my nerves. I haven't quite finished the second series yet, so obviously all my opinions might change, but yeah.

Hazel and Frank...hmm....I really don't have any opinions on them. I barely even remember them, tbh. I remember liking Frank and thinking Hazel was decent. I don't know.

Personally, I actually really liked Jason's character. I mean, not as great as some others, but I found little reason to dislike his character from what I recall. I actually was enjoying a non-snarky main character (as much as I love Percy, I was kind of craving new personality), so that was nice.

Leo, I love. Percy, same. That's all.

Why do you guys hate Jason, Piper and Frank so much? I love them. I love all of the seven actually, it was very hard for me to choose the least favorite, but I ended up voting for Annabeth, I love her, but the I kinda relate more to the others
