I'm sorry but just..no. The actors/actresses in the movie ruined it for me.

For me, Jamie played Jace well. Jamie has proven himself to be quite versatile in his abilities as an actor, as well as a musician. Alex, on the other hand, is just as arrogant and conceited off screen as his roles as an actor. And I definitely do not see him as good looking. As for your comment on actors/actresses changing how a movie takes away your enjoyment of a book, well, maybe you should try watching the movie before reading the book. It may sound odd, but it can make a difference. By doing this occasionally, I find myself visualizing the actors in the books. And of course the book fills in what had to be left out of the movie due to the time allowed for a movie. When done this way, I find the whole book more exciting being able to add to my imagination. Oh well, I wish you well in your future book reading and movie watching.

He is not arrogant or cocky and I have to say Alex presents himself as very arrogant OFF SCREEN as well as showing that arrogance in his acting roles. "Jace" shows a little arrogance and sometimes a little bit of a dry sense of humor, but that is the character's personality. I also notice no one mentions the fact that Jace has a soft side, but does not show his emotions except for his feelings for Clary. Jace is also very protective of Clary.
