Erin O'Quinn Dear Emily,

I am an author but also a blogger, a reader, and a reviewer. Since I devote most of my time to writing, however, I must call myself an author. In my case, "writing" includes editing and promoting--as you know, two necessary parts of an author's life. Thanks for asking!
Slán, Erin O'Quinn

I always appreciate constructive criiticism and compliments! You can find me reading socio economic flavored books along with self help, psychology and travel writings.

message 39: by June (new)

June Collins I am an avid reader and currently a NEW AUTHOR with a memoir, Goodbye Junie Moon in e book format on Amazon. Years ago I co-authored The Khaki Mafia with Robin Moore(The French Connection). Unfortunately I am not yet much of a blogger.I have a lot to learn about networking. Also, I am short of that precious commodity TIME as I take care of several family members and I am working on a sequel(As I am sure most of you are).

message 40: by Debbie (last edited Jun 24, 2012 04:01PM) (new)

Debbie McClure I am an avid reader, always have been. I'm also a new author, with my first book, a paranormal romance, In The Spirit Of Love, scheduled for release by Echelon Press in the Fall of 2012. I recently started blogging about a month ago, but have a lot to learn in that area. I'm also working on the sequel while awaiting final draft and am editing another book I'd like to self-publish this Fall as well. I follow a number of writer, reader and book websites and blogs to help me keep current on industry news and updates. I post to my blog weekly and daily on Facebook. I'm not a Twitterer (is that a word?), but know I need to learn to optimize that venue as well. I love sites such as Goodreads and in addition to wanting to market my own works, sincerely wish to assist other writers in getting the word out about their books. Best of luck to us all! :)

message 41: by June (new)

June Collins Debbie you are better than me. I only post on my blog monthly and check Facebook weekly. Time is my enemy - as it is to many of us - but my lack of skill at social networking is the biggest drawback. I have not yet learned how to optimize my sites. Most of my writing is done between 4 am and 8 am. A free day when I can write is my greatest joy.

Debbie,

Nice to meet you! Congratulations on your book(s) coming out! Whoohoo! So exciting.

I too have a few books coming out soon. My first is a nonfiction book, titled Life Lessons from the Heart to be published by Smashwords. Then I have my first fiction book, No Longer His Daughter, coming out in Sept 2012 published by CreateSpace.

Looking forward to getting to know you better.

It is also great to hear how you are keeping the marketing consistent with weekly blog posts and being on Facebook daily.

Have a nice Sunday!

I also blog at Ann's Afterthoughts www.annswann.blogspot.com, but only once or twice a week. I would love to hear from anyone about anything. I'm also a world class chit-chatter. =)

message 47: by C.P. (last edited Jun 25, 2012 08:42AM) (new)

C.P. Lesley I've always been a reader, later a nonfiction writer, and surprised myself by becoming a fiction writer starting about 15 years ago. I just published my first book, "The Not Exactly Scarlet Pimpernel," available at Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble (nook), and the iTunes Store. To promote the book, I joined Goodreads and started a blog, which anyone who is interested can follow at http://blog.cplesley.com. (Indeed, I hope you will. It is not all, or even primarily, self-promotion.)

Both book and blog are very new, but I am enjoying them (also Goodreads, which had rather slid under my radar until now).

The book:

Apple has yet to list it in its online catalogue, but it does appear if you search in the iTunes Store.
