I just bought the new Kindle Fire HD and love it.

I can read white on black or black on white.
It has many options in applications.
So, I am very happy with it.
Oh. I can also order magazines and the like as well.

Magazines are great as they archive and then take no space til they are activated again to view.
Any tips gratefully received.

I can only speak for the Kindle, as that is the device that I use.I have alot of books to read on my Kindle. When I received my Kindle through Amazon.com, I setup my Account. From then on every book I download free/paid that I download on my Kindle, the Kindle retains a copy...that you can retain at any time. After I have read the ebook, I delete the book from my Kindle...but it is still stored on Amazom.com, for future download.I then enter my review on Goodreads, and use the categories under Goodreads(Read/To read/currently reading)to sort my shelves. This is the process that I follow and it works great for me.Hope this helps.

As I read on my iPad and iPhone, I also use iBook a lot. It is excellent and often better price and quicker for European authors. EBook and Kobo I use rarely...but all on my iPad.
Thanks very much for the tips.

But why one might want to make a different choice about where you buy your books has just a new twist this calendar year as lovely Amazon.com adds a new rule that prices vary according to the country you live in. Now, hilarious. Is anyone dumb enough to think it costs them more on Whispernet to send a digital book to various places? But my book went from 12 to 18$! Shocking from a company that manages to a have a hold on kindle and sales that rock the charts but still manages to avoid paying taxes!

I won't buy a DRM restricted device, as I like to manipulate and edit my own EPUB files with sigil. :)

You are so right a avid reader will read no matter what device it's on.

I much prefer my Kindle for reading.

Can I ask, does anyone else find this? I was shocked when the fire didn't kick the readers butt

Anyway....... Less is more!
iPad is too big to read on comfortably..

To comment on previous posts, I understand suspicion of large companies and the worry that they will abuse their power as their marketshare increases. As far as I have seen (and maybe there is a lot I am missing), Amazon has made efforts to reduce prices on e-books but been stymied by the book publishers. So in this case I trust Amazon. At the same time, I shop in my local bookstore whenever there is something I would like in print.
