I love my ereader cause that's all i've known

My heart tells me e-reader, but practice tells me iPad. In addition to the iPad2, I have a Nook wifi, and had a Nook Color. As far as looking at text on a screen, I find I prefer both of the Nooks. That being said, I like the screen size of the iPad (fewer page turns), and the versatility of being able to read content from virtually any source, so I find myself doing the vast majority of my reading on the iPad. Also, since I can do so many other things with the iPad, it's usually the device "at hand." (and the fact that it synchs up with my iPod touch also adds value for me).

I definitely see the appeal of "e ink" and if I exclusively read books, I think that'd be the way to go……but in my humble opinion, the one thing the iPad is - hands down - better at than anything else, is comic books/graphic novels. That was enough to sway me that direction and I've never regretted it.

reader (Kindle Touch) with a STRONG CAVEAT: I greatly prefer to annotate professional development reading on the ipad, whether it is books or articles. Fiction on eInk, non-fiction on the ipad.

I've got a 1st gen nook, the battery life sucks now, but it's pretty light. I've found weight is by far the biggest factor for me.

I've both kindle fire and iPad3. Clarity is no doubt more subtle in iPad3 bearing to its new plasma display, but i like the small clutch which I have to give while reading on kindle fire. Its much similar to reading an actual book. I would vote for kindle fire.

Too much glare on kindle fire, my ipad is too heavy. Perfect is my Kobo touch eink for pure e-reading in b&w.

I love my NookColor. I've owned it for almost 1-1/2 years and use it every day.

I just bought a refurbished Kindle Fire for $139 (on sale for Mother's Day). I also have the Kindle Touch and iPad3. So far I prefer reading on the Kindle Fire and when I'm at home I read on the iPad 3.

I love my Kindle Touch. I have an iPad but it's much heavier than my Touch.

I am a tech junkie, I have a 7 inch galaxy tab, an iPad, I have owned a kindle touch and a kobo.
The tablets give me way too many options, lol, updating Facebook instead of reading. The e-readers are better! I will be getting another kindle in the near future!

Kindle Fire's screen is hyper-responsive, feels good in your hand and the text can be easily re-sized for easy reading. Slips in my inside coat pocket perfectly! There are so many free classics on the Amazon-android store; I've been eating them up.

if you are wanting just strictly reading and not the tablet features with the games and what not, i say go with the classic nook. It looks like real book pages instead of a computer screen and its so easy and simple to function. You can only "buy books" from b&b BUT any book that you can download online you can put on your nook, i do all mine for free and can help you out.
If you are wanting the "tablet" features i say go full out with the ipad.

Nor do you have to go with an iPad for a tablet, there are a whole raft of Android tablets that all run the kindle app as well as many other ebook reader apps that are very good.

I love my Nook!! I have had it for 3 years and wouldn't trade for the world. I much prefer it over the Ipad or my husband's android or my friends' kindle fire.

I have tried Kindle e-ink, Nook color, Kindle Fire and Ipad. Hands down, nothing compares to reading onthe e-ink Kindle. I always grab e-ink or a paper book. E-ink is so easy on the eyes and the closest thing to a book. I do like reading on my Iphone using the Kindle app though if I am out somewhere and just have a few minutes to read and it syncs with my Kindle. Nice :)

Depends on the library. The two local libraries I have access to have both epub and kindle files for borrowing.

If I can only choose one: IPAD hands down!

own the kindle fire, kindle keyboard and iPad. the kindle keyboard for daytime and the ipad2 for evenings. I regret owning the fire- short battery life and can't access apps because i am not USA based.

I prefer my Kindle,Nook and Sony because it is much easier to scroll down with and it is smart and fastening to use i can check my messages my friends can even ask me is it a good thing to use iPad on good reads and i say try the Kindle the Nook or the Sony you might like what you see. And they try it they love it because they can get to their messages when they are at work they can bring it with them. Just like for my boyfriend the same thing happened for him he loves the Kindle that i got him for his birthday he reads his bibles there and even takes it to work with him he says he loves it everytime he gets home. And i am so happy to hear that. By the way it is fun to go on goodreads on my kindle and nook and my kobo!

Had the nook color first and loved it, but ultimately the iPad won out when I had other needs (note-taking, etc.) that the Nook just couldn't compare with. However, it's easier to read in the sun with the nook color, and if you just need an e-reader I loved it, and it's a lot cheaper

i love my nook well on i ipads u can get books but when u are on a nook or kindle it is better for reading gooo NOOK

I read books on my kindle 3g and my fire every single day!

I use my iPad more than I do on my Sony because it is easier for me to download books. I have yet to learn how to change the Format to ePub format . My Sony is lighter and more convenient and if I could find the converter table again I would prefer the Sony.

Kindle!!! I use on my smartphone, computer, and my thrive. I found ibook on my iPad and iPod a bit less user friendly. Kindle app ROCKS especially on my thrive and I can make the words bigger too if I need to. Love the Kindle app!

I just adore my kindle, unfortunately cannot read the italian e-book formats and I had to add Tradebit app o my iPad if I would read the italian ones....

I love both my Kindle Fire and Kindle. I do often read on my IPhone - just the juicy tid bits from Fifty :)

I like the Kindle for everyday reading, but I read on my iPad when I lay down to go to sleep.

I prefer magazines on the iPad.

I love my Kindle. I find I read books faster on the Kindle that I read with a hard cover.So easy to use, and I love that you can change the font and make it bigger when your eyes get tired.

I much prefer my readers (Kindle and Kobo) to my iPad for reading. They're much lighter, but I think the main thing is they're not backlit. I spend my days in front of a computer and I don't want a backlit screen when I read. I find it much harder on the eyes.

I prefer iPad over kindle because it's a larger screen and also the fact that I can get the kindle app on my iPad, keeping all my books on one device. Also with the back lighting and the ability to change the colour of the page and text it makes reading anywhere at any time possible.

I only have an iPad, which i love to read on... but would like to try the kindle sometime, it gets such great reviews.

NOOK FOR LIFE!

Kindle touch: lighter, smaller, easier on the eyes, fewer distractions.

I rooted my Kindle Fire and installed the B&N Nook app. It's now more of a tablet computer than just an e-reader with limited Amazon store apps.

I have an iPad, nook, Sony ereader and a kindle.
I prefer reading on my kindle best because when reading on my iPad the sun glare makes it difficult to see. My kindle is more portable and easy to carry, it has an anti-glare screen which is perfect. My nook and Sony are good but the iPad and kindle beat them hands down:) because the iPads screen is huge.
