That's why i love my nook! you can adjust the brightness. I am considering getting a phone, I am "cell phone~tarded", would you recommend this phone?

I read eBook iBook and kindle for iPad and they ll adjust brightness! Love being able to read all on my iPhone as well. Very comfy and handy. Like the Kobo night reading adjustment too. All iPad 2 and iPhone 4!

Exactly what I find and not only which are available but comparing prices is often interesting! iPad2 is awesome...

I go one step further and unlock all my books, which allows me to use Stanza on my iPad instead of Nook or Kindle or iBooks. So I get to buy where I want and have them all available in one library, for one reader.

I can transfer my books straight from calibre to my ipad.
I don't need a light to read in bed
I can connect to my calibre library anywhere with ipad.
when I'm reading at night I use the night reading settings.
I use ibooks (not latest version)last two or three updates suck.
If I'm travelling and I need to go light I would take my Sony e reader.
BUT...people who use the ipad as a library / storage medium for their books need their heads tested. I only load a few books at a time.
I also read my newspapers on ipad...does take a little getting used to but once you are used to it it's fine.

I'd rather have all my books with me than have to decide which ones I want all the time.
I love my kindle because I can read it outside, it doesn't hurt my eyes, and it's compact enough to slip into my purse and take to work. Also I have a feeling if I read on an ipad, I'd get distracted and wouldn't get as much reading done. I like having a device that's JUST for reading.

However, some sort of discrimination exists when I try to switch edition in current reading section on Goodreads with no offer of iBook store purchases once downloaded. They offer iBook on the compare prices but later not IMO in switch to this edition....makes tracking reading annoying.

Oh, and the case that has the built-in light is excellent. It draws power from the Kindle battery. So if/when I fall asleep reading, it shuts off automatically when the Kindle goes to sleep. That avoids waking up to dead book-light batteries every morning.

IPad is fast, bright, clear...and is frying my eyes. Sadly, I can't put it down.
With both I love the privacy they offer...no people butting their opinion on the book I am reading, at the bus, pool, park...

One more factor affecting my answer: i work in front of PC's all day. NOT looking to star at another LCD in my downtime.
