Poll

We're going to read and discuss a longer book over March and April. I think it will be fun and give us more options.

Jenny (Reading Envy) My vote went immediately to the book set on a cold weather island!

Cindy Yes! I got Ice Trilogy over the holidays.

New York Review Books Mod
I did not add An Ermine In Czernopol that got such a great review today in the NY Times. I still can though, should I? Or are there already too many books (if that is ever possible).

Jacob I think it's a good list. Ebenezer le Page has my vote, although I would love to read Lolly Willowes or The Family Mashber too.

message 5: by Declan (new)

Declan This is the hardest choice yet!

Declan ...and I'm still trying to decide. I need a three-sided coin to help me make up my mind!

message 7: by Mikki (new)

Mikki Well, I chose The Book Of Ebenezer Le Page...I'm going with Paul.

message 8: by Seana (new)

Seana Paul is the reason brick and mortar stores should keep existing, so I voted with him.

Did you change your mind Mikki? It says on the left that you voted for The Ice Trilogy. I've decided to be swayed by Paul's endorsement, although The Family Mashber sounds amazing too.

For those who favor Lolly Willowes, here is an article about the book and its author, by Sarah Waters, from today's Guardian: http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2012/...
There's a newly discovered short story too: http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2012/...

Seana I've read Lolly Willowes sometime in the last few years and it is worth reading.

Good catch, Declan, thank you!

I read the Water's biographical article about Sylvia T Warner and Warner's new short story, both in The Guardian. The first told me quite a lot about her life and the second gave an example of her writing. Thanks for the links, Declan.
