If you are reading and someone throws something at you. You see it coming, so you:
Don't care about losing the page, you let the book close and catch the thing that's going to hit you.
Don't want to lose the page you are reading so you are hit by the object... but you don't lose the page :)
Don't do anything, you let the book close and also be hit.

I'm usually good with keeping track of what page I'm on, but if someone throws something at me, they better expect it to be thrown back at them, that's all I'm saying....
I never use bookmarks and stuff so I know what page I'm on, without having to consciously look at the page number. Also my aim is very good........
I sometime use bookmarks, mainly in books that are mine, but the wierd thing is that I don't use bookmarks on book friends lend me... I have read book of 1000 pages or so without a bookmark
