Eastofoz, after I read that Devlin Spawn from Devil's Pact was 6' 9", I went up to this guy in a supermarket in Perth (Western Australia) and asked him how tall he was. He said 6' 9" and was from Texas so I just had to stand next to him to see what I'd be staring at (my 21-year old son ran away when I did that). To my surprise, 6' 9" was not as freaky as I thought it would be even though I'm just 5' 3". I was staring at his nipple (if he were bare-chested, of course - which he wasn't).And no, Auntee, I did not ask this 6' 9" black guy from Texas whether he had a 12" dick. It never even crossed my mind.
I dated a guy that was 6'7 but he was too lanky to pull off that tall, sexy look. Hence 'dated' past tense (but not the only reason!!) haha

LOL Gwen! I see those really tall guys often as lanky so it just doesn't do it for me (lol!)
East, I agree with you. Anything under 6'is just not appealing to me at all. I voted 6'1-6'2, but really anything above 6' works for me.
I dated I guy once that was 6'6" and I am only 5'5", it was interesting. I did get tired of being an armrest every now and then but I do like them tall. Now why is my Hubby only 5'9"???
I chose around seven foot as a good height for my god-Princes of Tigron... well-developed enough to be unusual, and impressive, but still pass among humans without being obviously alien.There was an author of futuristic romances in the 1980s who had heroes eight feet tall, and I thought that was a bit over the top.
They must have had very big hands and feet, don't you think? Imagine!!!

I'm tall (5'9"), so I've dated my share of reallllly tall guys. And, yeah, what they say about the size of their dangly parts is true in my experience. So when I read about a hero who is really tall and a short heroine, I immediately, think, "How is he going to fit that thing in her???" Trust me. This is not what I want to be thinking when I'm reading a novel. I want to be caught up in the romance and sex, etc. So I prefer heroes to be 6 feet to 6'4". It keeps me from obsessing about dangly parts more than I ordinarily would.Okay, I know what you're thinking! I do read too many erotica novels, so my mind is always on dangly parts. But, hey, somebody's gotta do it, right? *wicked grin*

My hubby is 5'11" and is the perfect height for me (I'm 5'4"). I wouldn't want him any shorter and truly not any taller but I had to go with 6'1" 'cause my choice wasn't available :)
I prefer them human, lol. Not freakishly tall, but at least tall enough to provide some cover in a gunfight, lol. There are some really freakishly large men in romance. o.O It's not really appealing to imagine the heroine laying down with a giant. Has 6' become too average in novels? I think it would be more unique to write a somewhat shorter hero nowadays, ironically enough.
5'10" - 6'2" sounds nice to me. I don't like really tall guys. Actually, I prefer under 6 feet but not below 5'10", then I would look taller and that would be awkward. More for him than me, but I don't want to deal with that.
Honestly, nothing turns me on like a tall guy. I don't know what the heck it is, but I melt in a puddle at their feet. I don't particularly find the lanky ones attrative, but give me some yummy bulk on anything over 6' and I'd jump him. Wow. That sounds pathetic. I'm not that desperate. I swear. They're just mmmm mmm good!
