I have to say that I thought the exact same thing because I really didn't like it. But I also know that it will win because the classics always do. I would really like us to branch out, though, because most of the classics were banned for reasons we all recognize as ridiculous now. I think more interesting discussion can be generated by books that are not so cut and dried. We did have it twice though: the conversations about Lolita and American Psycho were definitely more animated. But obviously we are in the minority. Perhaps I'll have the audacity to wax poetic about why I dislike Catcher so much. :)

I should also add that I have no right to complain because I voted for a book without a lot of depth just because I've wanted to read it. I may have to change my vote in order to retain a modicum of respect as a moderator for this group.
