Poll
(Nothing but Reading Challenges) Which genre/category would you like to read for the month of February?
For those of you wondering why we are doing our polls so early, there is a valid explanation. We want to give our members a few extra weeks to decide whether or not to read our BOM; if members are interested in reading along with us we want to give them sufficient time to get the necessary book(s) to participate (from your local library or by purchase).

I appreciate having the polls up early. It definitely gives me time to figure out where to get my books. Thank you, mods!

Paranormal or fantasy is fine with me. But with a very limited income and a tiny small town library, I'm not sure if I will be able to have access to the books we will be reading. If we do Patricia Briggs' Mercy Thompson series I have all of them.Robin
Merry Christmas
Guys, remember that we already have a permanent spot for Paranormal Romance. If you do a write in for Paranormal Romance your vote will NOT be counted because we already have a section for PNR.
Okay didn't know that, so I guess it will just be for fantasy then. I swear between groups saying we have these rules and doctors offices telling me we only do scripts on certain days and being a newbie to both I say then have sometime of printout or handout that informs new patients or group members about that sort of thing then we won't waste votes on something that is already on the menu.Sorry just having a very difficult day. My older brother is in the hospital and they have said that when he had pain last week that it was actually a mild heart attack. And with me being warn out because I am not used to being around active children and being in major pain from arthritis I find myself being cranky.
Hey, Robin sorry to hear about your brother. I hope he gets better soon and he will be in my prayers.I should have probably included in my write up that PNR wasn't going to be accepted because we already have a slot for it. The Fantasy votes counted here is for good old fashion fantasy, not Urban Fantasy; which I think a lot of people are thinking. I'll certainly make it more clear next time.
Happy Holidays,
Sashana
Thank you Sashana,My brother had his heart cath today and discovered he was 95 - 98 % blocked and had a stent put in place.
As to Fantasy I meant more like Anne MacCaffrey's Pern series or Mercedes Lackey's Valdemar series. I'm not sure if I even read Urban fantasy can you give me any examples of authors that do it.

Sashana,
Thanks for clarifying about the fantasy. I was hoping it wasn't going to be urban fantasy.

Robin, will he be home before the new year? And authors like Patricia Briggs and Richelle Mead (her adult series) write Urban Fantasy. Urban Fantasy and Paranormal romance are very very similar. In fact, I don't even know the difference.

No problem, Michelle. Like I said, my fault. I should have made it more clear. Next time though.
Happy Holidays,
Sashana
Yes Sashana,Mom called me about three hours ago that he was being released today so he should be home by now and I will be checking in on him soon.
As to the urban fantasy then I do read it as i follow Briggs's series of Mercy and the latest trouble she got herself into.
That's great, Robin. I'm glad that he was home for the holidays. Unfortunately I haven't been keeping up with the Mercy series, I think I'll have to restart it in the future.
I love how Mercy gets into trouble without meaning to, she doesn't go looking for it but it certainly finds her every time.I'm trying to figure out how to participate within the group besides doing the Reading Through the Alphabet, hoping to do that in under a year.
Most of my free time at the moment goes to planning, creating and discovering info for my per project which lists every small publisher I can find in addition to culling out all the shapeshifter/werewolf stories because those stories predominantly make up my 1857 giant TBR mountain that as far as I can tell has no repeated info.
Several of the members on my llchatters yahoogroup have asked thay I share it with them. I am more than happy to do so.
