Sharon Cameron has really moving and poignant historical fiction while being fairly fast-paced. The Light in Hidden Places is my favorite of her book; however, I also enjoyed Artifice and Bluebird!
"The Saga of the Sierras" is a 7 book series of Christian Westerns (with hardly any romance) which I've enjoyed many times.
Fantasy, mystery, and dystopia! Marie Lu has written some great dystopian books. Definitely check her out! I also recommend Marissa Meyer
Omg my mom said that too!! She said it was raising my romantic standards 😭 I would go for romantasy 😉
I love a good dystopian book. You can’t go wrong with Hunger Games, Divergent, or the Maze Runner. If you’re not fully ready to let romance go, I would recommend the Shatter Me series! Some good YA fantasy series are Caraval, Cruel Prince, Shadow and Bone, Six of Crows, Red Queen. All of them have some romance as a subplot.
My favorite sci-fi series is Red Rising!! There’s no romance, but you don’t miss it when you’re reading the books.
Some of my favorite stand-alone books are The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue (historical fiction, fantasy) and The Silent Patient (thriller)!

If you like romance, you should read romantasy! I loved caraval and once upon a broken heart. Oh and Prison Healer was soooo good! For dystopian/sci fi (with romance) I would say Hunger games, Divergent, The Lunar Chronicles, or the Renegades trilogy. The maze runner is also good. For mystery/kinda thriller I would say the naturals.
