i personally love annotating my books!!!
my opinion would be to start with a book you like less, or just practice highlighting and underling at weird angles because sometimes annotating can get to that. if you decide to annotate, make sure to let the highlighter and pen dry so it doesnt smudge, and then once u get the hang of tabbing and annotating books, it becomes second nature! also tip is to make a tab key in the front of your book so you dont get lost at which tab is which (if you are tabbing)

if you need inspiration you can check out the pics in my profile, there are some annotations and keys if u want!!

(if u dont want to permanently mark your books, there are always clear sticky notes on amazon you can buy that also work well, but they smudge sometimes!)

IVE ALWAYS WANTED TO ANNOTATE BUT TOO SCARED

The only issue with pen is it might bleed through so maybe try on a book you don’t rlly care abt that much before and see how it goes

Okay, thank you all so much for your tips/advice!!! I think I’ll annotate some books that I’m really excited to read or know that I already love!!! But I won’t annotate all of them.

What I do is I highlight quotes or things I like, and if I write anything, it’s in pencil, that way I don’t mess it up. I recommend getting non bleed highlighters, otherwise it’ll mess up the whole book

I think you should do whatever you’d like!!! Me personally I wouldn’t bc I KNOW I’d make a mistake and ruin it 😭

Thank you for the tips!! I think I’ll ask my mom to take me to Target or something to get non bleed highlighters!!
