Poll
im sorry for another poll… Cinder, is it needed to read all the books in the series or is it ok to read as a stand alone? The first book is clean and has no lgbtq BUT later in the series from what I’ve seen online it does. So please let me know if this is a series you need to read the whole thing. Thank you guys so much! Also thank you to everyone who gave me clean ratings for the three books the other day!!
sorry im not sure
(write-in)
Eh probably not.
Probably not and I’ll tell you why in the comments.
You can read it as a standalone!

I’m not absolutely positive, but I’ve read the entire series, (apart from Fairest) and as far as I know there’s no lgbtq. It’s possible what you saw was some sort of fan fiction, or something. Or I just somehow missed it, but I think I would recall. You can read Cinder as a stand-alone. But it ends in a cliffhanger. And I wouldn’t recommend just reading the one.

Fron what I found one guy is confirmed gay but that is outside the series and his sexuality is never mentioned in the books.I just bought this whole series so you made a panic a bit lol😅
I’ve read all of the main books There are no LGBT characters as far as I saw
(If there are any it went way over my head so if there are they don’t mention it aside from maybe an ambiguous comment that you can take either way 😅)
There’s obviously no spice
But I don’t think you can read cinder alone
I mean if you dislike it then don’t continue the series
But all the books lead into one another 😁
Alright, upon further research (plugged in, highly recommend it) I have found one small mention of lgbtq. (Imma try to do this without spoiler at all) In this world the Lunars can “glamor” themselves. Aka, alter their appearance. Apparently there is an extremely brief mention in Winter (the forth) that a man is glamoured to look like a woman. I DID NOT notice this, and I think it’s more implied than an actual blatant mention. I remember the part it was talking about, didn’t notice at all, so I’m sorry. But yeah, it was so brief and said in such a tricky way I don’t think you would even know.

Ok thank you!
There's no LGBT in Cinder, and I believe the books cannot be read as standalones, because all the characters from previous books interact with each other. I don't know why people think it's LGBT, never saw that in the books. I only need to read Winter and Stars Above to finish the series, but I'm doing it as soon as I go to school again, and I'll see then. :0
