I will always recommend assassins blade first for context and momentum :)
Read Assassin’s Blade fourth I promise it’ll hold more meaning than reading it first!
I'm the type of reader that likes to follow the story chronologically, so I say Assassin's Blade first. Sara is also right--it packs hella emotional damage.
I always suggest AB first if you are a chronologically girlie. Just know that if you start with TOG, the ending of AB will be spoiled for you and it is a major part of the story.
You can read AB anytime before Queen of Shadows. I personally recommend it after TOG since the writing style is different between the two and it makes the transition a bit better. Plus on a personal level I don’t really care about short story collections and AB is rather boring on its own.
